8. Dodd is not a shock doctor. |
|
The Bushies, yes, but not Senator Dodd.
This is for real and Democrats have been sounding off the alarms for decades.

19. Really - the Dems have been sounding the alarm for decades? |

In what alternate time warp?
If memory serves there was an immense and very consequential Banking Reform Act that was passed in 1999. (A mere nine years ago.)
It is such a convoluted bill that when I approached a public law firm in Boston to help me with orgainizing a class action lawsuit for some nefarious banking practices, I was turned down.
They turned me down not because the lawyers supported the actions of the banks that upset me, but because the law is so convoluted that none of them can figure out how to bust the banks for their nefarious deeds.
But I sure don't remember hearing either of the two Big Money Parties complaining about it much. The politicians from both parties were far too busy figuring out how to get some money for their campaigns in 2000.
And don't forget, it was the Clintons who took their staffers off the bank campaign reform committee and put them to work on helping get the NAFTA legislation passed.

This is another 9/11 moment pure and simple. The stupid, little bastard has no idea what to do. He might as well be reading "The Little Goat" again.

3. This video is terrifying. |
|
We are on a precipice. For a Senator to say that on tv tells me how shocking this is and how bad. I can barely make the rent as it is. And it won't be getting any easier.

4. What Paulson and Berneke said could be true, |
|
and probably is. But I can't help but feeling that this was another "Fear! Terra! Give Us What We Want!!!" moment. The kind that always hand the neocons everything they want.
I also can't help but feeling that they're about to finish us off.

I have the means to survive and am almost ready. When my Puke brother in law shows up (if ever) I have my discussion with him planned.

6. Wow. This is chilling. "We don't have weeks. We have hours or days..." |
|
And Dodd was right -- Obama said something today like "John McCain and I can continue to argue our financial platforms in the future, but right now we have to come together..." and there's McCain spitting out zingers.
And he's also right - regardless of what it's gonna cost us (and regardless of how wrong or unfair that is), it pales in comparison to what the cost would be if we don't do this.
This is indeed sobering hearing this from Dodd.

9. Looks like Al Quaida won |
|
They wanted us to spend our wealth on a crazy war in the middle east, and we did. They wanted us to go broke. They won.
It is said that, if you want to find out who was behind a major act, follow the money. Where the money goes, the perps will no doubt have their bloody hands on it. Who has the money now?

Seriously. There's not going to be a conventional financial safe-haven for awhile. I'm considering buying a generator, a shotgun, and about a three months' supply of food and water.

11. Seriously, I'm not sure what dollars will be worth. |
|
I admit I've been on the side of believing that we were heading for a big fall for a long time, so I admit that I may paint too gloomy a picture. But, so far, things seem to be on track as to what I've been fearing. And it's not over yet.

17. yea, ok its a meltdown..... |

or so Dodd was told. then again, nobody ever said the Reichstag building wasn't set on fire.
but who is gonna forget the Enron boys joking about 'burn baby burn' as they caused Caifornia's rolling backouts. BTW I know of an 87 year old woman on 1/2 SS being buried by heating bills that tripled. She couldn't pay for her medicine, she couldn't pay for food. PGE turned off her heat. Serious. I watched in horror.
Well, thanks for reminding me. I'm a peace loving guy, but I'm past ready to see some heads roll and blood flow. Guillotine, we need the Guillotine!
"crimes against humanity", "crimes against liberty", "crimes against the people" Guillotine, where is the Guillotine!

18. Make sure your representatives read every friggin word of any bill they vote for to "fix" this. |
|
The same thing happened after 9/11. Rushing legislation through in fear is a really bad idea.

Bush doesn't give a shit, he's interesting in bailing out his buds and getting back to Crawford so he can hit the lecture circuit.
Could you have possibly fathomed 8 years ago that this idiot would have the US in such a MESS?
Good grief. Words fail me.
