Thanks for posting this!
Krugman's been telling the truth for so many years - and for such a long time his was the ONLY voice doing so. Others have climbed aboard now, too, and are saying what he's saying, but early-on in the dubya-years, he was quite literally a lone voice crying in the wilderness.

4. Wow, I'll bet the generation Xers and younger groups will be hanging |
|
...up posters with Krugman's image in their dorm rooms after that interview! "Power to the right government people". Who the fuck will they be exactly? Just who is going to know how to stop this economic meltdown which threatens taking out 80% of the world population over the next twenty years?

This is some very scary shit -- even for a Princeton economics professor.

9. I'm not sure that there are phrases too extreme to describe the peril. |

This is anecdotal, and I guess quoting a sibling might be considered too "hometown", but my sister knows her shit. To (hopefully) give her a little cred.....her Master's thesis (Oxford) was on the economics of the North Atlantic Triangle. She may not be Paul Krugman, but she doesn't say "You want fries with that?" a lot, either.
The word she used to describe her position on the current state of the world economy - "terrified". She says that no one really knows what will happen, or even COULD happen, because these conditions have never existed before.
And believe me, she is no Chicken Little.
