Virgil Goode (R) is a lying sack;

Goode recants, admits to knowing lobbying firm

Congressman Virgil Goode has recanted an earlier statement and admitted to knowing what the lobbying firm that is holding a fundraiser for him today is associated with.

Goode said Friday he didn’t really know much about Van Scoyoc Associates, the firm holding the fundraiser. Goode said only that he thought it had something to do with Virginia Tech.

Goode told the Martinsville Bulletin on Monday, however, that the firm does in fact lobby for Virginia Tech. The Washington, D.C., firm also lobbies on behalf of defense contractors and biotech companies.

His Democratic opponent’s campaign has expressed outrage that the incumbent congressman didn’t know who he was getting money from, and said it was an example of the congressman’s ties to Washington and not the 5th District.

Before Goode denied knowledge about the firm, Tom Perriello’s campaign had called on the congressman to cancel the fundraiser in honor of the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.

2. Heh... this lady set up a website, she was so ticked!
"Shame on Goode.com"
http://shameongoode.com/

"My mission, from the beginning has been to inform the people of the 5th District about how their Congressman, Virgil Goode, approved and attended his own high roller fundraising PARTY on 9/11/2008, a sacred day of remembering and mourning our heroes and victims of the greatest terrorist attack on our nation!

The same mind that said it was o.k. to have his fundraising party on 9/11 is the same mind making critical decisions on behalf of the 5th District of Virginia!!"

3. While I agree that fundraising on 9/11 is tacky, I wish with my whole heart
that one day, the eleventh of September will just be another day.

WWII survivors say that they didn't wring their hands so long over Pearl Harbor. Shit WWII was over in less time than this current garbage has been going on... If the war on terror is not part of a coup to destroy the country then we need to get over it and bring our troops home now.
