McCain confuses the National Guard with the Army during a Townhall meeting.

The large contingent that deployed from Alaska to Iraq on September 11, 2008 that McCain refers to, was not of the Alaska National Guard but was in fact the Army's 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division.

McCain also noted that Sarah Palin's son was a member of the National Guard which is also incorrect. Palin's son, Track, is a member of the Army.

McCain stated:

"In fact, you may know that on Sept. 11 a large contingent of the Alaska Guard deployed to Iraq and her son happened to be one of them. "

McCain-Palin: Unfit & Unable!

4. I think he was confused again
When one considers how frequently McCain gets confused, it is impossible not to question his mental fitness. This is yet another reason why he should release ALL of his medical records.

13. Medical records would not reveal dementia
unless a relative asked the doctor to evaluate him for dementia. How likely do you thing that is?

It makes me sick that the MSM covers up for his obvious mental deficiencies.

2. That's nothing. McCain confuses McCain with McCain.
Now that's problematic.

3. Does anyone know the MOS of Palin's son?
not to split hairs, but there are support roles in a brigade combat team.

When the guys in my platoon, soldiers in a reserve engineer battalion, were thrust into combat operations, without additional training, they got "blanket awards". That means the wording of their awards is the exact same as those POGE BASTARDS (same battalion) their entire deployment, and somehow have just as many "war stories" as my guys.

No, we cant do it alone, and every role is important. Yes, there is a difference in the duty and experiences soldiers have. My guys should have been recognized, not homogenized.

Be cool

7. Enough!
When will the Republican party realize that they need to ask McCain to just stop talking until the election is over. I just gets embarrassing.

She has nothing to do with foreign deployment of the guard. When will the Repubs get tired of the lying?

9. Why
To quote my drill sergeant in basic training at Fort Dix, New Jersey, May 1976:

There are three ways to tell time: the civilian way, the Army way and the way they do in the National Guard. When it's a quarter to three in the afternoon civilian time, it's 1445 Army time. In the National Guard, it's when the big hand is on the nine and the little hand is almost to the three.

16. I had boot camp in dix in 79
but the reg's wouldn't be anything with out support unites like the guard and Reserve the only thing they would be is short handed I seen some of the guard and reserve as good or better at what they do then the reg's why? because most do it as civilians like construction and medical and other roll's. I was a reg and I'll never look down on them they put there ass on the line like any othere grunt in B.D.U's

17. You posted about the National Guard - which is irrelevant, because Track Palin isn't in it
He's in the regular Army - see eg http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5gklG-DS9dhwcGUIY_Tk6O-myVSOgD930SR0G0 or http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/us_and_americas/us_elections/article4669290.ece or http://www.adn.com/iraq/story/220586.html .

McCain, however, wrongly claimed that Track Palin is in the National Guard. Either because he's a confused man who isn't fit to lead a country, or because he lied on purpose to try to make a false connection between Track and his mother's nominal command of the Alaskan National Guard. Track Palin joined the regular US Army (to get away from his Alaskan secessionist father?)

19. I think McCain is trying to make that false connection as you
described. I feel The kid was faced with jail or joining up because he was involved in the school bus/booze bruhaha. And of course Palin/McCain is using the patriotic soldier boy as political hay just as they have used the whole Palin family for poltical purposes. McCain and Palin are among the worst political scumbags I have ever observed in my many years of political watch.
