McCain still thinks he'll balance the budget by 2013. Even with the bailout. Ha ha.

1. They are going to move the entire budget off the books.
Then they can declare it 'balanced'.

5. He is lying through his teeth
On a daily basis. He knows that if he makes it a full 4 years, it's not likely he would even try for another 4, so he can lie all he wants to get elected, but it will be a different story if he were to get into office. Once elected he would just do as he pleased and damn the people. McCain has nothing to lose, this is his last chance to be president and he will stop and nothing to get into the White House!

6. restraint of spending means
fuck you lower income people, try to live a balanced life and send your kids to school. Go live in your cars and drive on bridges that are falling apart while we drink champagne and eat caviar. If you need medical help, go die, you're just taking up space we can use anyway.

Gaud, that man hasn't a clue, even with all his wifes' money and all their houses, he hasn't been able to buy a clue.

10. He will do it by a combination of "creative" accounting and slashing everything

that's not military offense spending and subsidies for the wealthy. This is the scariest thing about a potential McCain presidency.

He'll go after SS and Medicare, using the bailouts as an excuse (as others have pointed out). The Democrats in congress are so spineless and complicit that they'll go along with it, regardless of the majority.

People who are undecided in this election better make sure they don't get any sort of welfare or help from the federal government that is intended to help the poor before they cast that feel-good vote for that maverick POW guy who says he won't take their guns away.

11. if it's one thing these crooks have shown us it is that they can cook the books
real good. They've kept the entire Iraq war off the books so keeping the bailout off the books won't be hard at all. I'm surprised they haven't declared a balanced budget all along.

15. Spoken like a guy who knows nothing about the economy
So.....Let's say that you say that the economy would be balanced before you add a Trillion dollars plus the effect that this disaster will have on the economy. How is it still equal after you add those? I apologize for restating the obvious here....

I am wondering...is there a tipping point for people's belief of what he says? At some point people have to realize just how irrational what he is saying is. Even if you really, really, really want to believe him, there must be a cutoff point. If Obama started to say so many things that are blatantly false, I would stop supporting him in a second if for no other reason than the fact that he is insulting my intelligence.
