1. I grew up in NM. This dude is sooo off base.

He appears to be one of the 'My family came from Spain - we are superior to all' ppl. They suck. They attempt to rule local and state politics (successfully for MANY YEARS).

They are a rapidly vanishing minority .... kicking and screaming as they fade into obscurity.

2. I think you're right

There definitely seems to be an attitude of some New Mexicans that they are not "Hispanic", but "Spanish". New Mexico did have heavy Spanish immigration. This is really a problem of Spanish racism, not Hispanic racism. Louisiana had the same problem with their Spanish Creoles; Leander Perez was the most notorious racist of the Spanish Louisianans.

To my mind, these people aren't Hispanic racists; they're white racists, since they insist their descended from European Spaniards.

How many Spaniards do you know that are racists? You assume because they are white they automatically are racists. Geez When does this nonsense stop?

This a-hole is projecting his own racism onto the entire ethnic group while trying to also justify it. He's obviously dead wrong because Obama is winning Hispanics in NM 69% to 30%.
