I really appreciate Chris Dodd and the amount of work he has put into this effort since last Friday. Certainly lays effectively into McCain and his non-campaign campaign stunt around 4:00.

Very grateful he and Barney Frank are working on this - can't think of one republican who could have done this as well as either one of these men.

2. So the deal worked out today gives Bush and Paulson all they want

...Senator Dodd was very vague in his statements about 30 minutes ago and Nancy Pelosi was on NPR News at the top of the hour and she was mumbling something that was just not at all clear as to what has been worked out.

I suspect that the democrats have again caved under this crisis pressure and conceded to Bush and his Wall Street cronies. Details on working out protecting tax payers from buying worthless paper, re-regulation, congressional oversight, accountability and immunity from criminal prosecution are essential. If these guys get a "stay out of jail free card" and a "blank check" until January 2009 Bush and Wall Street will loot the U.S. Treasury and clean it out.

This bailout scam must not be passed!
