2. I didn't know earmarks spending was decreasing not increasing....

If this is true, then that fact should be pointed out to McCain since he obviously doesn't know from his statements. Disgracefully ignorant!

I've always believe that McCains earmark reform platform has only been a smokescreen to cloud real issues that he has no grasp of. Important issues.
Earmarks mean very little in the overall picture. I hope the electorate makes it clear to McCain that basing his entire campaign on earmark reform is not what we want.

Interesting. Didn't Democrats regain the majority in Congress in 2006? And earmarks have decreased since then?

But then earmarks aren't the only means of pork barrel spending. Tax breaks for big donors, War profiteering without and investigation or auditing, and no-bid contracts for corporations linked to your Vice President could in theory be other ways of robbing the public treasury.

Does anybody else think it's ironic that Dick Cheney is called VICE President? Methinks he takes that title too literally.

I am really surprised that nobody has given John McCain the nickname of "Johnny-come-lately McCain." We need to get some videos out there on this. I think it would really catch. Especially after the whole switching on regulation, energy, and campaign for change..
