...of gutting public education while pointing their fingers at the 'liberal' disease, the puppet masters behind the Republican Party have achieved their goal. We now have a generation of sedentary, consume-oriented, dull-minded drones who think they are free & react to every jingoism-fueled soundbyte blasted through the monkey box (TV). While I don't find his rhetoric unifying, I must admit that Bugliosi hits the nail on the head in this one. It must be said in all openness.

It is not working. I know more people working this weekend and have been working for DEM campaigns than I can count. In fact, it's easier for me to count those I know who haven't done any canvassing or phonebanking or donating to campaigns.
For all the fascist bastards have tried to do, they haven't broken us and they don't control us.

...an important juncture in history. I was in Germany when the wall fell, experienced the exuberance, and saw how the German conservatives (CDU & CSU) soured it. There is still a good deal of fight in the Germans and the other European nations against neo-liberalism. Now the time has come for the U.S. to finally grow up. I am excited about this change. We are living in interesting times.

spirit of the country and the world after 911... we won't let anyone do that this time. THIS time it will stick and we will pull together and get this place cleaned up again.
