3. Is it my system, or is the audio out of synch of the video? |
|
Did someone treat the Internet like dump truck? So I saw what I thought I saw on Friday night, and get the audio on Monday?
What the fuck is wrong with these tubes!?!

The jury has "never even been to Alaska". This relies on two tricks I've noticed the Repubs use A LOT.
1. Rely on the utter ignorance of your audience. In this case, people who don't realize that law is law, and whether or not the prosecutors have "been to Alaska" DOESN'T MEAN SHIT. If it did, the LAWS would be written differently to take that into account. But oh, no, we can just brush aside legal rulings based on the fact that we 'locals' understand things better.
2. Divide, divide, divide. In this case, turn your local Alaska population against the big elite Washington government. This obsession of dividing whites against minorities, Christians against secularists, rural against urban, is one of the most repugnant things about that party. It's also why they might lose the election. Obama's all about the uniting.

11. Yeah that statement stuck out like a sore thumb. |
|
Dont they move trials based on location??? And two.. yeah I dont think this is the best way of avoiding the sentence. I mean the guy isnt looking to get a sentence but attacking the jury might cause problems.

12. Ted Stevens also said that he 'wasn't convicted of anything' |
|
He's delusional. Who freaking cares if the jurors haven't been to Alaska? If there were a legal matter where the jurors had to have visited Alaska, they would have surely gone. I think he was just bitter that the jury wasn't stacked with his people. I've been to Alaska. I was born there. Does that mean I would have been a better juror? Since I wasn't at the trial, I don't know all of the details--but from what I do know, I most likely would have come to the same conclusion as the rest of the jury.
Senator Stevens, you are a crook. You will most likely lose your re-election bid on tuesday. You will probably spend some time in prison, but fortunately for you it will be a cushy minimum security federal day care center instead of a maximum security facility filled with hardened rapists and murderers. You let your power as a senator corrupt you.
