Asshole
I hope Cleese is healthier than he sounds. And I had such a huge smile on my face listening to that!

You're right though- John doesn't sound good at all. Hopefully that's nothing chronic.

Apparently his mother is still alive, so he should have good longevity genes.

You know, he connected it to the Berkley Hunt (whatever that is) which, in rhyming slang, as far as I can think of, rhymes with c---. I can't think of any other derogatory word hunt rhymes with, can you?

I would have thought Burke had something to do with choking, after the CSI episode Burked, where they take the term from the famous grave robber.

3. Joe The Unlicensed Plumber's Assistant |
|
is a clueless,overreaching,tax-cheating phony who's bullshit persona is believed only by the mouth-breathing, knuckle-dragging, wingnut neanderthals and the neoCon's who exploit them. It makes perfect sense that McCain would look up to such a guy. They'll have plenty of time after next Tuesday to consumate their blooming bromance.

4. To watch a couple of intelligent guys laugh at the dumb, clueless republican voters is long over due |
|
Edited on Sat Nov-01-08 03:07 AM by GreenTea
in my book...John Cleese makes a great point...how the idiot republicans voters actually want a president they can have a been with, I want a brilliant, well informed highly decisive man as my president not some beer drinking frat slob or some out of touch, stumbling, arrogant, wealthy clown...or a Palin, who they like because she's just like them...holy fuck they want someone that fucking stupid and unqualified?
The republican voters should be laughed at, I constantly watch in amazement how truly fucking stupid and gullible these republican voters really are!!

15. You and me both, and I've often been accused of being |
|
a sort of "reverse snob" for feeling the way I do, but I can't help it.
Whether it's people in government...people who are in positions of "authority", whether they're bosses or politicians or whatever...I want them to at least SOUND intelligent. As well as BE intelligent, of course...
I want to know that someone can actually understand that (with only a handful of exceptions) most issues aren't just about black and white and either/or, but that there are usually varying shades of gray.
This country deserves someone it can be proud of again...a president who doesn't look like an imbecile, and one we don't have to apologize for being an American because of...

Republicans think that government is a joke, so why should it be a surprise that they want the most incompetent boobs in charge? Sheesh. I don't want to have a beer with the President; I want the President to do his/her JOB. To Republicans, the job is ripping off the people in as many ways as possible.

13. My fellow Prisoners???? |
|
What WAS McCain thinking? It had to come from somewhere....it's not even close to anything that you could get mixed up on. Or, is he feeling that he is a prisoner of the GOP? Being that he did a 180, maybe he is (on a subconscious level) starting to feel like a prisoner (again).

17. brilliant poem... I would have substituted with "jerk" |
|
because humor is best when you don't have to explain things... I think substituting "jerk" for "berk" is what my mind did automatically... anyhow..
What a really nice exchange, having such a comedic genius from a different country putting his perspective on this whole election was priceless....
