9. I've been trying to keep an open mind...

and realize that many times people tend to stick with people who they agree with. This is natural. So, I've watched these videos of the racism, bigotry, xenophobia, complete separation from logical/rational thought, and just downright stupidity that's being displayed by many McCain supporters specifically and right-wingers in general. I also realize that the media uses this type of stuff because it's sensationalism and people watch it. So, I've been searching some right-wing web sites for videos of dems/left-wingers/Obama supporters portraying similar actions from their perspective, because I'm sure they'd be (rightfully) using it all over the place. And I just haven't found any.

For me, that point alone pretty much settles who to vote for.

but I couldn't find it anywhere...on youtube, other websites. The closest was a video of liberal New Yorkers giving McCain/Palin supporters the middle finger, and booing their parade through a street fair. But that's New York City--you have to be able to take the middle finger and some booing. But none of people said hateful things.

right wingers, exspecially the racists are naturally more likely to be hateful. I know of a a very racist girl who supports Palin because she says she can identify with Palin.

BUt the way McCain is conducting his smear and fear campaign, it also explains a lot of the hate coming from McCain supporters. When McCain calls Obama a "socialist"...his supporters are seen screaming "Obama's a socialist!!!". When McCain mentions Ayers, or Palin says Obama doesn't see America like you and I, his supporters say "Obama is a terrorist!!! He has terrorist friends!!!"

McCain's political career is over. I think after the race is over, he will be very ashamed of the kind of race he ran...in particular with Sarah Palin.

IT was a Detroit local Fox affiliate...with it's own news director. Local news has nothing to do with the national news channel.

The Fox News Chanel is a product from News Corp that is meant to be conservative--that's the demographics it targets and they are fine with the ratings. Afterall, Fox shows The Simpsons and Family Guy (including a recent clip that shows a nazi wearing a McCain/Palin pin).

Likewise, MSNBC decided to be the liberal equivalent 2 years ago and their ratings improved because of it.

25. I was dressed as one of those "socialistic democratic liberals" for a party

last night and had Obama pins on my outfit. This young man (looked around 17-18 y.o. and says he wants to be a professional baseball player and was dressed as one) said to me "your not really voting for that guy are you" and I told him I already did. He then said " wow, I'm going to be the guy who shoots him (don't take this literally..I live in a very conservative town and the republican gun owners are talking like this because of the shit the NRA keeps sending to them everyday). I just told him that if he did that he would spend the rest of his life in jail and that wouldn't be very smart and then i talked to him about Obama. Hitting all the smears he probably had been spoon fed. At the end he said he really didn't like either candidate but I think he went away with a different view of Obama. His parents were standing right there and didn't say a thing while I was talking. The woman in the video is a terrible person. How do people get to be this way? Do parents think they are doing their kids a service by teaching them to hate (I'm guessing that was her daughter behind her). I saw someplace else that that lady is a retired teacher. How can you teach when you are so intolerant of others. Her next door neighbor is black. How does that make him feel when she says "Obama is scary (that statement usually has racial undertones)"?
