1. There's a man
lost in very deep thoughts of his own. Wow. I've watched that over and over again and it makes me catch my breath every time.

3. There is a man who has lived the civil rights movement for so long now
that he is overcome with emotions about something he probably thought he would never see. That jerked the tears out of me too.

5. I have a feeling he was thinking about this

just 40 years ago.

9. I don't know about Jesse,
but that image immediately came to mind.

Jesse looked pretty messed up.

7. *sigh*
I was going to make a joke, but it just doesn't seem appropriate now.

Jesse jackson helped make tonight possible, lest we forget. This is a man who has given his all for this country, and now it's paying off.

10. I'm not buying it
As a middle-aged black woman who has watched this man's career for years, I have never viewed Jesse Jackson as a true national leader of the black community. It may stem from my distaste for most pastors. I think his tears were for himself and what might have been. After all he made a run for President not that long ago. Don't forget this is the guy who was caught on tape saying he wanted to cut off Obama's nuts. I don't know if Jesse has a place at the table after that.

12. He has his faults
but I won't question his emotions. He has fought long and hard.

13. I think he did have envy but has enough empathy for this moment. He was very complimentary of Barack
on Democracy now a month ago.
