John King is way off base, a comfortable majority of people want real change that benefits the people not just the powerful, in other words liberal policy.

6. I was referring to what looked like an odd majority at the GOP convention. |
|
Dopey looking white cowboy hats on pasty looking fat senior citizens who look as though they wouldn't know the first thing to do with a horse.
Sure thing about the broad brushes. Much love to Texas Dems: putting up with more shit than any human being should have to.

14. Sorry...I wasn't looking for an explanation, really! You are right about |
|
the dopey looking white cowboy hats and so forth. We thought the same thing and wished we could knock the hats off their heads! Bush is one of those people...not fat but he's afraid of horses...pathetic. I am not a native Texan. Moving here was a leap of faith having lived my last 15 years in northern MN. We do put up with a lot....BUT we converted a handful this election and that was very satisfying.

They keep perpetrating it.
That America is a Right-of-center nation.
even though a majority want: out of Iraq universal healthcare social security public education
They always take two marginal issues Gay marriage and abortion rights (yes these are important to those that are affected by them, but my point is what affects the majority) And they use these two issues where the majority is to the right, to claim America is a right wing county as a whole.
Totally false. I wish someone would challenge these numbnuts the next time they spew that garbage.

10. King's logic is flawed |
|
Edited on Thu Nov-06-08 04:50 PM by gwinnettdem
I was screaming at the TV yesterday as I watched this live. The logic he uses is completely flawed. He compares Barack Obama county by county to Bill Clinton. Then he shows tons of counties, especially in Texas and the deep South, where Clinton won but Obama did not.
So far so good, right? HELL NO!!!!
Why did Bill Clinton win all those counties in the South? Hell, why did he win at all in 1992? Because H. Ross Perot cannibalized the Republican vote. Take Perot's vote, give 80% to Bush and 20% to Clinton. What do you have? A second Bush term in 1992. Scary, but true.
Now, I'd LOVE to see Obama's counties vs Clinton's counties after dividing the Perot vote up 80/20. I think we'd see WAY more blue on the map this time around than in 1992. It just goes to show how the media distorts the story to fit their needs. Obama has a mandate that Clinton never had. Bill Clinton was popular with Democrats, but he never received a majority of the vote; not even in 1996.
Anything the next administration does will be viewed as leftist because of how far to the right the past eight years have been. Obama should ignore that and do what is best for the nation.
In summation- John King can stick it.
