13. I don't want him to be complacent anywhere...

Nuts are all around us, no matter where we go, imo.

4. I wish I could recommend this video more than once.
I have many close friends from Africa. It is a joy to see Africans so happy over this great event in our nation's history. After eight terrible years, I again feel proud to be an American. We have taken our country back from the criminals who tried to steal it from us. There is much work to do, but we will do it!

6. love this!
the hopes that one man has inspired in so many places.

Africa will have fewer problems!
Omigosh, he has to keep reminding us that we are the ones who will make the change, not him.

But how beautiful to see hope in so many faces,
so many places.

10. This is priceless! The last guy just made my day.
I've just been a bucket of emotions this past week. I've cried (just a little) about 15 different times lately. Just when I think it will taper, something like this comes along. Dang, I'm just so grateful for this outcome. What a shift in the world we all created by electing this man.

12. Obama has so much to live up to. I feel sorry for the
president elect. There is no way that he can live up to those expectations.

11. Just think
If the vote suppression efforts panned out, as well as the terrorist/muslim/race baiting, and John McCain was elected and then expired in a couple of years, these people would see American run by someone who did not even know Africa was a continent and these were all different countries within it.
What a glaring difference.

Sorry to take you'all back to nightmare land for second.

15. Have ykou noticed how so many want to make this all about "Blackness"
It's not intentional from our side but the repubs and the wingers and the MSM try to make blackness dominate every association about Obama. All the celebrations on TV of the Obama win the cameras seemed to focus primarily on the reactions of black people. Also seemed to focus the live comments from black people as if that is what Obama's election was all about, his black heritage etc., which to me was a secondary issue. The best man for the job who just happened to be black. Most Americans aren't really bothered by that image but the republican base is motivated by it and this will be a central focus point for the repubs to rally their racist base. I never even thought of Obama as a 'black' man and it certainly had nothing to do with my decision to vote for him. I hope this doesn't turn out to continue as a black referendum as it does a progressive liberal referendum....I'm so glad Obama is president and not McCain. Oh and did I mention, Obama happens to black too.
