8. 35 years ago, there were warnings about this

in 'small is beautiful' the idea that people manage local affairs better, so biz etc should be kept small. Instead of 3 car makers, why not 30 thousand (if the r and d/financing could be made available)? or instead of 200 nations, why not 2000? Obviously, the problems inherent in ego tripping etc would have to be overcome, but, the payoff would be that the enviro' implications would be also kept local. Anyway, the pig fought the very idea of 'small is beautiful' like they was being attacked by hannibal lector-they demonised the very impulse towards trying to regulate the counter effects of unfettered greed. Everything that has happened, and will happen, was tripped off by WW2 when the most powerful electorates on earth, the American/western powers etc, saw fascism up close and didn't like it; and more then that they saw what collective action could do if the will was there. So way back in post war period, the reactionary rightwing, aka the 'fascists' began undermining the will, and muddying the water, and destroying 'socialism' as legitimate idea. 'Big is beautiful, the Bigger the Better, it is the only beauty!' is now the only concept allowed in public discussions. If males are disappearing, does anyone think the reactionary rightwing aren't somehow going to point the finger at women, and progressivism, for causing the problem?
Btw, Michael Moore in his 'Stupid old Men' book mentioned his impression that mostly girls were being born among his family/friends- all seemed to have girl babies ...
