I just had to post this. It's hilarious.

This crack pot is saying that under our new presidency, we will experience food riots and that we will be the "first underdeveloped country" by the end of Obama's presidency.

This is the same crack pot, by the way, that predicted that Kerry would win in 2004 and that the dollar would collapse in 2008.

Pure comedy gold!

1. Oh Gerald...
you're already at the bar, have yourself a drink. On second thought, maybe you shouldn't mix alcohol with whatever you've been smoking.

unreal. It's all environmental and that's what the Democratic party does best. They said take it with a grain of salt take it with a bucket of BS, it's the environment with lands becoming unfarmable due to droughts in parts of the world. It's population guidance needed to limit food riots too. People need to be advised for their own future safety to have smaller families. Added to this there has to be a balance between food production and bio fuels till there is a way to sustain both with an array of alternate energies thrown into the mix.

6. I fully agree, however...
...with regards to the food production situation, algae biodiesel is the holy grail that, so far, is hardly being discussed.

20. agree re algae biodiesel...Something major has happened in that respect in MO
not fully conversant regarding the technical side, but American Green Holdings have developed a mechanism that can literally turn virtually anything into biofuel...Here is the rub, they have been developing this pump for 12 months and now, at a time when they should be pushing forward the credit crunch is killing them...Obviously I am aware from our association with them just how remarkable a project it is, but it just shows that even today, at a time when we should be looking forward, mistakes from the Bush administration are seriously hammering American Companies..

3. George Noory has this maniac on Coast to Coast AM all the time.
He also has Jerry Corsi on all the time too. Why do I keep listening?

films. Sometimes he has a point but getting rarer these days a large amount of the time he's playing on peoples fears and not reaching for people's better angels to inform them that of their people power in the process of democracy which is only government by the people. He goes on like government is an alien entity beyond our control as if none of us can't run for office and reshape it. I think more progressives need to phone his show as he really does throw out a lot of misinformation probably more than faux. Although don't listen to his show too long he scrambles rational thought.

19. Norry has him on a lot also...
My problem with Alex Jones is the following, if, as he claims, what he is revealing is 100% the truth, and the NWO is a dangerous evil machine, why are they allowing him to broadcast these revelations?

Secondly, I despise anyone who puts "adverts" in the middle of news items...This to me shows a man more concerned with money than delivering the news.

Also his voice makes Sarah Palin sound melodic...I have nightmares that hell will be a constant interview between Jones and Palin with the music being courtesy of Gwarr...

14. I think he's been under pressure re Corsi
I actually heard him talk for a bit about Corsi after Corsi wrote his latest smear book. It sounded like C2C had gotten a lot of emails about Corsi's credibility. I know for sure he got at least one--because I wrote it. I told him Corsi should never be a guest again because his book had been proven to be a pack of lies and furthermore, it is not the type of work that advances public discourse about ideas.

Anyway, the upshot of it was that he said he would never have Corsi on to discuss politics unless he could have the opposition side on at the same time. He stopped just short of saying Corsi had been discredited as a source because of his book.

15. He actually had Corsi on election night.
Corsi was well-behaved, and praising Obama though. Didn't have a bad thing to say about him all of a sudden. Either he's afraid his career (whatever that is) is in the toilet after bashing Obama, or he wants to be one of Noory's regular guests again.

Either way...I miss Art. I think he's completely washed his hands of the show though.

18. I used to be an avid C2C listener, but Norry has lost the plot
His obsession with Celente, Corsi and that idiot from the Starship Enerprise Mission has rendered C2C a pathetic programme. When Art Bell ran it, the show had some substance, now, with the exception of one or two guests, Norry has made C2C into the charicature it was believed to be but never was.

As for Celente, he has been consistently wrong all year, his "trend analysis" seems to be more based on worst case computer model scenarios than any reality. I mean lets face it, how difficult is it to predict that this Christmas may be a frugal time for many? Food riots, we these were supposed to have started this year, the dollar was supposed to have been replaced by now, oh I could go on....

21. Noory needs a smack upside the head
For sure, he does, but I still listen to the program because I learn things there that I can't find out any other way. Their other hosts are pretty good--Ian Punnett, for example, and there are numerous others I like a lot.

But George has been totally acting like a jerk of late. One thing he's been doing that drives me up a wall is that a guest will just be getting into the high point of their story and George will break in and ask a stupid question like, "Linda, how did you get into this? What interested you about the (whatever the topic is)."

I mean come on!!! Have some damned respect for what the story is in the first place!! Let them say what they came to say instead of getting on George Noory's psychologist's couch.

Then it switches the story to that of the interviewee's background and completely leads away from the story they came on to tell.

Dumb. Dumb dumb dumb.

8. Is this an Onion piece?
I seriously thought it was, at first.

The guy says stuff that actually resonates with me, though. He's predicting the downfall of our economy because we're going to be focused on food vs putting presents under the tree. That's how I believe it should be.
Our economy has far too long been based on giving credit so you can buy stuff you don't need with money you don't have, with the marketing machine making you feel inferior if you don't get the stuff you don't need that everyone else has. As we've just seen, this is not a sustainable way to run an economy.

I recently noticed that 95% of everything my money goes to that isn't a utility or mortgage is food. It's where my real enjoyment is.

9. 30 years of republican policies HAVE turned us into a 3rd world country
look at what has happened to our global standing in health metrics - things like life expectancy and infant mortality (hint: Costa Rica does better than the USA)

Look at how our distribution of income and wealth compares with the rest of the industrialized world (hint: we are near Turkey)

11. A broken clock is right twice a day
It may not go down precisely as this clown predicts, but there's trouble a-comin. The powers that be know it, and they're launching absurd preemptive strikes against Obama and the dems. Eight years of republican rule has brought us to the brink of ruin, and Fox is already blaming a guy who hasn't taken office yet.

does he base his "predictions" on? Just trying to keep up with the fear agenda IMO.

13. God, what a fool...he just doesn't get the concept of
"Yes we can"

Obama said "Yes we CAN....not "Yes we WILL"

WILL and CAN are two different things

I'm not expecting any big miracles, and I hope people aren't going into this thinking Obama is going to be able to solve all of our problems in four years when it took eight years and a whole LOT of stupidity and criminality to get to where we are now.

As for the rest of his blathering...

food as gifts...uh, we've been doing that in my family for a couple of years already, for a number of reasons

When our kids ask us what we want for Christmas, we just tell them to get us fruit baskets or whatever. My eldest stepdaughter loves to cook, and makes a mean macaroni and cheese casserole, and that's what we ask for.

Food is always a welcome gift

Even fruitcake, which is one of my favorites....

Alright, don't think I can't hear all the gagging.... :P

16. another scenario (book)
I heard a scenario on a C2C program Sunday night that sounded pretty practical. The author of this book says that the adjustment will be more phased in. Here's a link to some customer reviews of the book, which is called "The Long Descent."

Excerpt from customer review:
Greer makes a convincing (and unemotional) case that peak oil will lead to a phased industrial decline rather than a sudden "fall off a cliff". His orientation is one of getting his readers to face the facts that 21st century life will have its peak oil-based challenges, and to engage in behavior that is constructive and adaptive to this new reality.
