1. Because they didn't make up the majority of the VOTERS, stupid! |
|
So the vote would have failed without them.

but if those polls are accurate the majoirty voted for it. Don't know why. It's a civil rights issue. Were many black churches speaking in favor of it?

70% of the money that supported Prop 8 came from the Mormon Church. That's why they are being targeted and the campaign they paid for was full of lies.

7. Dissappointed in my homies |
|
I'm a straight Black male and I was dissappointed in the Black vote on this proposition. Bill'O is a rasist and an exaggerator, but that still doesn't excuse the result. Just from my conversations with other Blacks, I unfortunately don't see a change in opinion anytime soon.
...and if you see a Black person express any negative generalization about women, Hispanics, and/or Asians, SLAP 'EM...HARD. Those demographics, with GLBTs, put Barack in the White House!

3. 7% of the population was the deciding vote? |
|
Not the other 93%? The blacks in California (7% of them) imposed their will on the other 93%?

4. Ah, Falafel Boy's racism is showing ... |
|
Edited on Wed Nov-12-08 02:50 PM by Maat
oh, God, he gives me nightmares. Reminds me of my mother's ex-boyfriend, an oilman ... I had to endure his obnoxious presence for so many years.
Grrrr ... oh, sorry, I'm back.
Hey, Falafel Boy and Co. ..... I am going to target (legally, as in boycott and protest) anyone who donated to the Yes-On-8 campaign, anyone who voted for it, and anyone who actively promoted it, including Rick Warren. It has nothing to do with their church services. It goes beyond that. These people went out of their way to use my state constitution to eliminate a right. They are going to be held responsible for that. It has nothing to do with First Amendment rights (only the government can be the violator there); it has to do with being responsible for your actions. That's American.

8. Their argument is SO WEAK! |
|
This is race baiting if I ever saw it. Bill-O is trying to turn the gay community on the black community. The blacks voted for the prop (sadly) but there are NOT enough of them to be the deciding factor. Bill would just love to see two minority groups go at each other,

9. we got denied the right to marry and now we're religious bigots? |
|
hey falafel-fart, blame the rape victim much? So sorry we didn't also turn out to be racists so you could have some smarmy commentary about how we deserve what we got.
We didn't do anything to deserve losing rights or being called a racist. Peri-fucking-id.
Now speaking for myself on the question of religion - I will freely admit I am hostile to all religion if it has to qualify itself in front of me. To my way of thinking it's like a crazy person running up and saying "hey, I'm looloobananas whacko psychotic high functioning MR with borderline personality disorder, and you have to understand we think you are unnatural and immoral and we're right because we're crazy."
No I'm not tolerant of that.
