1. I suppose McCain neglected to tell the DoD how to win this thing. |

We live in some screwed up times, my friend. :)

3. That old fool was running around, spouting that drivel. |
|
And the Taliban is running around downtown Kandahar.

5. McCain proved he really wasn't a serious candidate |
|
He offered no serious solutions, I mean this guy conflated Sunni and Shia on a regular basis, how the hell was he going to figure out the differences between Al-Qaeda, the Taliban, Afghanis, Panjshir Tajiks etc etc? Like you said, he was spouting that drivel while the Taliban were in Kandahar, it was ridiculous.

4. My God. I wonder how long the school has been empty like that. |
|
This was an ongoing campaign, not an isolated incident. Women's rights are still non-existent in most of the world, but this is happening on our watch. If cheney and company hadn't been in such a damned hurry to cash in in Iraq, maybe this wouldn't be happening here.

8. It honestly hurts me to see things like that |
|
How cruel can a person be? They're just kids wanting to learn, they weren't hurting anybody.

11. which, of course, isn't a crime |
|
That's awful. How cold-hearted does a person have to be to do something like that? I can't even begin to understand. They must think of women as less than nothing. Like dirt. I can't grasp how people can dehumanize another human being like that.

10. Women are suffering terribly all over the world. If Hilary was UN ambassador, |
|
or possibly sec of state, it seems to me she could have a powerful influence on women's rights everywher on Earth. What a powerful team she and President Obama could present on issues like this. I think the impact would be huge.

I think several people would be great in one of those spots, but, yes, Hillary would be awesome. I don't know how interested she'd be in either though.

13. It depends on wether she would embrace it as an opportunity to |
|
work on worldwide women's rights issues. If the position would be like rice's, no substance, she should not consider it. I think if she used it as I've described, she could possibly have a bigger impact than shoe could have from the wh.
