1. I can't even listen to that asshat Bayh. This IS about Lieberman. I called Nelson, told him Joe |

gets no chairmanship. There are too many good Dems that need that on their resume.

2. He makes some reasonable points |

My reaction is still to show no mercy, but there is definitely another point of view to consider.

3. Lieberman's chairmanship can be revoked at any time by the Dem Senators. |
|
So, why do it now and lose what would be an almost guaranteed vote with the Dems on the social/economic issues?
If he gets stripped, he might resign and then the REPUBLICAN Governor of Connecticut will appoint a Republican Senator to take his place and that will assuredly be a vote against Obama.
Let Joe stay and vote as #59 or #60 in the Senate for now.
If he gets out of line in the future, siding against Obama's wishes, they can strip him then. Until then, let him vote on Obama's side with regards to health care, and the economic plan in general.

6. Mr. Bayh, When / not If / Joe Steps out of line - he will simply |
|
Threaten the caucus with accusations of "removing him for political reasons, to cover up some imagined/marketed RW attack investigation of Obama." That is how HABITUAL traitors behave when you allow them to blackmail you into getting their way even after getting caught betraying you for the zillionth time. That could cause more damage than the two potential outcomes you allowed this snake to blackmail you with. Especially since his experience thus far is that he can get away not only with putting the knife in repeatedly, but actually getting rewarded for it. He was a "great help" to the Big Dog during the RW investigations on him now wasn't he? He has a long history of betrayal that goes well beyond his behavior during the 'o8 elections. Time to call his bluff when he has less power to cause harm. Besides there are many Democrats who EARNED a chance at that gavel - your appeasement sets a bad example on so many levels it boggles the mind.
