4. Katie Couric never said, "What do you read up there in Alaska?" She said, "What
do you read?"

Like every other word out of her mouth, that was a lie.

So, Sarah? SHUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT UUUUUUUUUUUUUUPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP.

5. Nah, keep talkin' Sarah - the more you open your trap, the dumber you sound!
Keep those clips coming - the late night comedy shows need material for when you have more delusions that you are fit for office and announce your run for any other position.

9. "make her stop singing mommy"
I had a teacher relay the story of her daughters obsession with watching the Mary Poppins movie.
In the middle of the night after her daughter had been on a Mary Poppins watching spree the daughter came running into their bedroom screaming "make her stop singing mommy". It seems that the lovely Mary Poppins had invaded this little girls dreams and wouldn't shut up - sound familiar?

19. I must admit that I am with those who hope that she won't ...
she is the gift that keeps on giving. She puts a face on today's GOP that people are literally running away from. Every time she opens her mouth ... .

If it gets to be too much, I can just turn off the TV or choose not to read the stories. And then I sigh with deep satisfaction that she is not now, and pray all the gods will NEVER be, anywhere near the White House in any substantive role.

If you can stand to read it, here's a witty comment from the Telegraph (UK), that also has an admittedly unhealthy fascination with Sister Sarah. Snippets follow:

<...>
In assessing what Palin's candidacy has meant for feminism, the question is not specious. For symbolically, the nomination of the first female VP Republican candidate should hearten American feminists, even if Palin's views - insofar as they are discernible - don't conform to the liberal pro-choice agenda. But in relying so drastically on her looks, Sarah Palin as female political icon is a giant step backwards.
As for Palin's own views on the F-word, her assertion on Fox News this week - "Sometimes, y'know, I consider myself too a feminist - whatever that means!" - suggests that the guv'nor is about as expert on feminism as Prince Charles was on love.
Rabid fans at Palin rallies were predominantly male, and unabashedly lascivious. Wearing campaign buttons reading "Hot Chick!", many cheerfully admitted to journalists that they mainly came to ogle. <...>
Even in the context of the impoverished linguistic expectations of the Bush era, Sarah Palin can't talk. When asked on CNN this week what Bush most needs to do in his remaining two months, she commended the president for reaching out to Obama and "those whom we know will be in the cabinet" - perhaps under the impression that when you stuff in "whom" willy-nilly you will sound more erudite. She went on: "And that bodes well for our president also. And other things also that bode well for President Bush and keeping our country safe the last seven years with no other attack on the homeland, those things that I think we cannot lose sight of, that President Bush has allowed progress in those areas in our nation. You know, I want to do a shout-out to our president and thank him for that." As a novelist, I craft fictional dialogue all the time: I could not make this stuff up.
<...>

********
And no, I don't underestimate her for a nanosecond ... which is one reason why I would like to see her stay out in the open.
