I could care less what caucus Lieberman is in but strip of everything that involves important decision making. This backstabbing Benedict Arnold should be reduced to nothing more than a yay or nay button pusher. And that would still be too good for him.

4. The more I see what is going on in congress the more |
|
I am convinced that it is just one grand Kabuki dance. Our Democrats just cannot be this stupid. It is not difficult to imagine them all just high fiveing in the back rooms knowing once again they have completely fooled "we the people" who bought it hook line and sinker and the taxpayer money will just keep flowing to the powerful and well connected. And fuck those dems pushing for the hands off Lie berman guild.

as pissed as we are. These Democrats have it fucking twisted if they think we should tolerate this asshole staying chair of a committee where he refused to ensure the future safety of American citizens. We really should begin a letter campaign.
I know this statement will be considered uncouth, but if Obama claims he wants the best of the best running government, then we need to get "Brownie" off the Homeland Security detail for fuck's sake.

7. The Democrats have been showing weakness for at least eight years. We elected Obama. |
|
Edited on Sun Nov-16-08 12:52 AM by rhett o rick
Not Congress. Why should anyone expect the Democrats in Congress to change. With a few exceptions they are gutless and spineless. They will not get a filibuster proof Senate, so they are "excused" from doing what is needed. Joe Lieberman will be the test. If they let Joe have his chairmanships, all is lost.
Even if the Dem's get 60 members including Joe, I guarantee that you will never get all 60 to support the Democrats at the same time. There are at least 5 Dino's that will always vote with the repukes.

|
Annoyingly the media will play up the fragile Dem Senate majority every day for the next 4 years.

24. What I think the Dem's should do is start forcing the repukes to filibuster. Shut the Senate down. |
|
Let America see what obstructionists the repukes are and the GD Dino's.

25. I agree. And on top of that we need video mashups of the R's talking about how EXTREME filibusters |
|
are.
Use their own words against them. It's sad how rarely that happens.

I have been a fan from back when there were three of them. I especially enjoyed Ben and Chenk's debates. I find it very educational when two people relatively on the same side argue.

If it were up to me he would already be gone. Cooler heads prevail I guess, but Lieberman can be the real fly in the ointment here for years to come if they handle this wrong. And I agree that the lack of investigation should disqualify him from Chairmanship, at least.
Joe, Joe, Joe, what the hell to do with Joe?

Lieberman has got to lose that chair he has no integrity to hold that postion or we could be back to square one. He can caucus but that's about it.

13. K/R. I agree with Cenk 100% on Lieberman. There should be no question as to |
|
whether or not he retains his chairmanships. Period.
Obama can preach forgiveness, bipartisanship, etc., which is all good to a point, but the Democrats should stand firm on stripping Lieberman of those chairmanships.

17. Looks Like Complicity Rather Than Weakness |
|
And I'm not surprised to see the names of certain individuals in Congress rally to Joe's rescue, the very same turn-coats who voted with Bush when we needed them to vote against him. The Democratic Party has a major problem right now and no majority is going to solve it. There is a corporatist faction in this party of ours that will do all it can to prevent a Democratic party from legislating anything populist(liberal/Progressive)... that's why they are in the Dem Party to begin with.
Oh... they'll throw an occasional bone, but that's about it. Sad to say, this is a lot better than having a Republican in office. Anyways... enjoy paying taxes to the Uber class in America, because that's where your tax dollars has been going for years.

I'm waiting to see if Lieberman is being set up for just that.
If he leaves the caucus, it's his choice. The Democrats don't have to throw him out.

He's approved by 70% and the Congress by 14% of the public.
After the big day in January, he'll need to tell them what to do.
