I got caught up in the fall drama as much as anyone (particularly once Biden was campaigning again) but need to pay attention to more substance on DU and more real life in general.

4. I hate war.

All that is horrible and despicable about humanity can be found in war. War cripples minds, hearts, and bodies. There are no winners. Ever. There are only survivors. There is no glory. Ever. We can only hope that those who want it all to stop are the last ones to pull the trigger. It's our great shame and if we don't stop it, we will at best continue to suffer that overwhelming ache in our hearts and minds from those horrible images of our loved ones dieing in pain and terror. Or worse, being abused in body and spirit for the insane pleasure of the enemy while we are helpless from injury or chains. Our greatest fears are realized in war. So fuck all of you who glorify the way of the soldier. Your _duty_ it to your conscience first, not country or general.
