(6:45) Hannity finishes Morris's talking point. Morris to Colmes '...shut up...' |
|
Edited on Tue Nov-18-08 08:33 AM by underpants
zulchzulu posted on this last night http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x7884960Hannity literally read from the prepared script -the "Wall Street Journal says..." (surely an op/ed piece not actual news)after the first feed of Dick Morris goes out http://www.newshounds.us/2008/11/18/morris_to_colmes_just_shut_up.phpThis recession is the fault of both Clinton/Gore AND Obama. Colmes clearly points out how ridiculous it is. The "shut up" is at the 4:45 mark

1. They're in the transition period |
|
Remember, for the past 8 years everything bad that happened was Clinton's fault. For the next couple of years everything bad that happens will be Clinton AND Obama's fault. Eventually they'll forget Clinton and blame everything that happens on Obama.
Notice how nothing is ever Bush's fault?

buying their shit like they used to.
BTW, it almost looks like Colmes is getting stronger in his response to these guys. Am I wrong? Has he grown a set now?

I saw it and marveled that Colmes 'took it'. This segment all about how the market is down since Obama elected. Morris Obama's election a factor. Well, the truth is that yes, it is a factor. The joke is that its probably such a minute factor its not worth talking about except on this idiot show for idiots.
Colmes 'takes it' from Morris telling him to shut up. If your name is on the show... the one thing you at least should have is the right to shut down any guest who tells you to shut up.
The better response to this 'argument' is to point out the bogus nature of the arguement. If market is up...that's due to Bush If its down...its Obama's fault. You can yell that kind of thing all night long.

I give him credit for having to put up with the BS that goes on there. You can't talk to Sean, he's unreachable and unreasonable. He puts up blinders and simply can not be objective. If Raygun was so wonderful, then what happened with the first Bush? There were no jobs and a recession. The Clintons pulled us out of that; but somehow the rupubs take the credit.
Fact is, Obama's plan may indeed hurt Wall street early on - (no pain no gain), but once he helps out the non-rich, there will be more spending. The wealthy will only have a small tax increase, which will hardly break their bank.

11. The First Bush? That was Carter's fault |
|
I'm not kidding. That is their line. Everything bad that happened during Reagan/Bush1 was Carter's fault. The bad stuff that happened during Clinton-Clinton's fault*. Bush?-Clinton's fault and now Obama too.
Al Franken told a story on his radio show about asking Colmes why he didn't call Hannity on his BS and Colmes told him, Franken, that they had a rule to not take on each other on the show.
*-the first WTC bombing occurred on Feb 26, 1993. 5 WEEKS into Clinton's first term. Not once have you ever heard any of Clinton people try to pin that in any way to Bush1 nor is that hardly ever mentioned on the MSM. W of course used the "we were only in office for 8 months" line and MSM bought it completely.

"sore losers."
I can't decide which is funnier - Insanity holding that damn pen or Morris rolling his lower jaw around as he's speaking.

6. I can't believe anyone feels sorry for Alan Colmes. |
|
If this guy grew a pair and left the show or acted any differently than a beaten puppy than I would care. Seriously Colmes, raise your voice with some righteous anger for a change you might like how it feels.

That don't have him on there because he is a strong counter arguer, just the opposite.

17. Well, I have been fired for standing up for myself. |

It is worth it. It is not like Colmes couldn't write a book about what an idiot Hannity is.

7. All Seany can do is recite the talking points |
|
And you can tell when the toe sucker Morris loses the argument because he tries to change the subject and promote his latest screed that will no doubt wind up in Richard Mellon Scaife's mulch pile or used as a door stop. In a word: pathetic.

was more aggressive and tried to be better at what he does on H&C I think he would be out of a job. They only want someone there that Hannity can contend with.
I'd love to see Hannity up against Rachel or KO.

16. Kucinich should replace the spineless Colmes! |
|
He's always been a woose. He's smart but too respectful and soft-spoken to fight back. He can't "go off" on a person at all...Anne Coulter always makes him look like a little girl.
But that's what FOX News wants...they want Hannity's ultra-right wing fucking mouth to dominate. Everyone sees this. How about putting Dennis Kucinich in Colmes place and watch him take Hannity to school. Hannity would be eating so much humble pie that he'd shit a bakery!
It's one thing to have a fucking loud, machine-gun stacatto like Hannity...it's another to have a strong but intellectual delivery and intelligence like Kucinich.
