She was an amazing lady. I had never heard of Jimmy Carter at that time. I was new to politics. What a wonderful experience that was. I will tell all those DUers who are afraid to get out and campaign for the people they believe in that you are missing out on the opportunity to experience the making of history first hand. So, get out there and work in politics. Call people and walk precincts. You never know when you might get to spend an afternoon with a Miss Lillian. It's something you will never forget. She was so gracious.
