Edited on Thu Nov-20-08 02:14 PM by AsahinaKimi
What did they send that guy to, a MOVIE? He had his mind made up probably before he stepped off the airplane. I have lived her all my life, I grew up here and went to a school where all kinds of kids, White, Black, Asian, Hispanic, Native American, and everyone else hung out together..we had no guns in schools, we had no major fights, and of course some kids smoked some
pot, and maybe a few other drugs, and maybe beer etc, but this has always been one cool place to live.

I Once wrote to Bill O'Reilly after he wished San Francisco would be hit by a Terrorist's attack, to never ever set foot in my city again. Well, he didn't, but looks like he sent a munchkin in his place.. this guy was seeing more crime in one day, then there has been all year!

FOX NEWS stay the hell out of California!

31. Fantastic point
we had no guns in schools

O'Reilly complains about marijuana use on the streets. Meanwhile children and teachers in his beloved "traditional" (red) states are terrified to go to school and/or work each morning.

8. Haha, cool!
Stay away conservatives. San Francisco will infect you with the gay and the weed. LOL!

I've been to many different cities, and San Francisco is one of the best. The only problem with it is it's so damn expensive. That's one of the factors (no pun intended) that O'Liely never takes into account when engaging in his ridculous anti-liberal proaganda. The city does have a large homeless population, but that's due in no small part to the fact that rent is so high. If the city could find a way to change that, then I'll bet you would see that population decrease dramatically.

Other than that, San Francisco rules.

But we got the best Sour Dough bread, the best Seafood Restaurants and more importantly the BEST ASIAN food! I have had Malayasian food,(Yum!! Nasi Lemak!!!) Indonesian food, Vietnamese food, Thai, Korean and of course my favorites Chinese and Japanese.

We also have some of the best restaurants in the world here, bar none.

As for the parks being unsafe, I love Golden Gate Park, its a blessing to the city..being so huge and now home to the California Academy of Sciences, as well as the famous DeYoung Museum of Art. Chinatown and Japantown are so very cool!! I love this city, I would never ever move!!

San Francisco is one of the few places in the world where you can get any type of ethnic food you want, and it's delicious!

And the people are extremely friendly and open minded. I got arrested there back in 2003 during an anti-war march, and even the cops were pretty cool about it, once they got the handcuffs on me, anyways. We were talking and joking with each other the whole ride to the police station.

In another city, I doubt the cops would have been so friendly.

10. GOP is over
The GOP strategy to regain power is clear, they are sticking with the same old methods. Gay marriage will be the rallying point and San Francisco will be a symbol of everything that's wrong with America, much like the Bronx was in the early 80's. O'Reilly is laying the foundation for these attacks. Anybody who has actually been to San Francisco knows that video is a gross misrepresentation and racist. BTW, Bill-O the Clown, just FYI, "North Beach" is not the "Tenderloin" (3:25) they are two totally separate areas in the city. The GOP is over.

welcome to DU btw. Back on point, you are correct that anyone that actually lives in SF or nearby (across the bay in my case) knows that this caricature of the city is false, and could have been filmed in ANY american city. They all have homeless, the all have hookers, they all have drugs. SF is no different from any other city, at least in regards to these agents of the "secular progressive left" as O'Reilly would call them.

of the Tolkein Ring Trillogy- his words are like poison, he is simply a critic, and offers NO constructive solutions, but hate, divisiveness, suspicion and loathing amongst people--he FEEDS on it. He paints the world in dark shadowy colors and has a disease that is contagious.

Oreilly and his ilk represent the most unhealthy and unstable states of mind and, ironically, I see them as the most serious threat to the security of this country!!

Edited to add: Only he could make a beautiful city like San Francisco out to be less than so (of course he could not go himself...). Of course there are many people on the streets of EVERY city because we are in a DEPRESSION!!!

19. Was out on the Fort Point Pier fishing

There was a cool breeze coming thru the Golden Gate and we had our hoods on to block the wind. My friend was getting about 6 or 7 rock crab every time he was pulling the traps up, unfortunately he was only able to keep about 1 or 2 per haul cause most of the ones brought up were legally undersized. We were fishing and brought in a decent catch of perch. There was probably oh, I'd say about 4 or 5 sea lions swimming around the pier lolligagging about waiting for folks to throw their used bait in the water or try to snag a freshly caught fish or snagged rock crab. Even for a mid-November there was a lot of tourists walking out on the pier to get pictures of the bridge and also to look at our catch. Very much typical autumn day in San Francisco.......kinda.....

This last summer in San Francisco was what I refer to as "world language time" in "The City". Pretty much throughout San Francisco you'd hear everything BUT american english: german, italian, french, european spanish latin-america english, british english, australian/new zealand english (I can tell the difference), scandinavian (sounded german but wasn't so assume scandinavian), various slavic, korean, mandarin, cantonese (not sure if local chinese), japanese (but not in great numbers as Japan is still kinda economically hurting), various south asian (indian), farsi, arabic, etc.

Whatwith the summer crash of the dollar the above was not surprising but I'd say that it is somewhat surprising that there still a lot of european tongues being heard in San Francisco at this time.

DROOLING knuckle dragging rightwing reactionary SH!T-F0R-BRAINS (isn't the terms "rightwing reactionary" and "sh!t-f0r-brains" redundant?) VERMIN like SCUM o'reilly masturbate with hatred over San Francisco but boy the rest of the "elitist" "effete" world sure seems to have a loving for The City.

THink of the millions who watch Bill O'Reilly...the type of people who watch Bill O'Reilly...and now THOSE people will avoid visiting San Fransisco. You bastard are lucky.

And I've visited San Fransisco and loved it. HE sent a guy to Haight and Ashbury area to get most the footage. Well there are many other areas that don't look like that. It's like sending a camera crew to an East Village park. That scene would scare Bill's viewers too.

23. What an odd conversation, between O'Really
and his cub reporter. The kid liked it, and was saying so until he got the hint. I lived in San Francisco way back when...1967-69. When I arrived, alone, I was 15, and I had a wonderful time. I have lived in or near several other American cities, and visited many more, but none of them can hold a candle to the city by the bay. I still visit when I can, and will be in town for New Year's Eve. If I do not run into B.O'. or any of his peeps, so much the better. Oh, and if Jimmy Olsen there was going to mention "needles, right by baby strollers," he should have gotten some documentary footage. I mean, he did have a camera crew. So I'm callin' "Bullshit!"

But the idea that Bill O'Reilly would send some hayseed from his staff to go and visit San Francisco to "report" back on the Gomorrah-esque qualities of the city is downright laughable.

SF probably has nothing on Las Vegas (in a RED state) for smut and insanity. I'm sure his staffer walked right past every museum, bookstore, library and place of culture to round up the unwashed weirdos in the video. And to make it so bad, the unwashed weirdos in this video are still very likely more articulate and informed than the average O'Reilly viewer. Go figure.

35. Billo the Clown needs a "breaking story" to maintain his full of shit status
I've recently visited my nephew there with my sister. We didn't necessarily stay in the best places, and had no problem enjoying ourselves. Plus, my nephew loves living there. I found great public transit, from the airport to any damn place we wanted to go and a wonderful atmosphere. But, then again, I totally can look homeless people in the eye and have conversations with them, even buy their broadsheets. This way I actually learn.

Aw, too bad Billo hates the city climate supportive of living as a homeless individual. He could have talked to any of them there without feeling so scared. He could have gone with us to visit Haight-Ashbury, where I found great restaurants, so long as you don't rub your naughty parts with the food.

And no one who might have been passing reefer seemed to be watching Fixed News or reading pornography- "Hey, get my pipe UP!"

37. Hyperbolic Horseshit. (or Foxshit).I live 20 miles away.
In Northern California (for the last 50 year at least) SF is known simply as "The City"

SF is a great and beautiful city, a progressive and compassionate city,
one of the Greatest Cities of the World.

It is a dense urban society but a wonderful place to work and live, advanced services
including medical and public transportation, libraries, a gazillion cafe's... somewhat
like Paris in parts, but with its own unique character.
Here's a quick clip virtual tour of Lombard and the Warf
http://www.virtourist.com/america/san-francisco/video.htm

I might go to SF on a sunny day with my favorite squeeze, a beach towel,
butter knife, and a corkscrew. Before you lock me up, listen up. I'm no terrorist.
We ride the cablecar to the warf and buy a whole cooked crab and french bread,
pick up a bottle of cabernet and cube of butter from a local mart,
get to golden gate park, sit in the sun and quietly enjoy the afternoon, then
walk over to the Academy of Sciences in the park (or de Young Museum, or Botanical Gardens).
Hey, life is tough for us Californians!

Fox's unbalanced distortion focuses on homeless and the tenderloin district.
And even then, the homeless are praising the city and have respect for the police.
O'Reilly has not the wit to comprehend it.

In short, Fox is whacked. But then, we all knew that.
