9. I lived in Europe for many years. You shake hands and in some countries
embrace every time you meet. If Bush was not shaking hands because he already had, he committed a huge faux pas. But then, par for the course with Bush.

No, there was something wrong. Bush had said or done something embarrassing or unfitting or possibly offensive. This is not normal European behavior. And it isn't the normal behavior of a politician either.

4. Jeannie Moos is the most honest reporter at CNN:
She makes no presumption of being serious about anything that comes out of her mouth. Could be true. Could be bullshit. She doesn't care.

...about the queen of england. if you meet her earlier in the day and shake hands, you dont shake hands with her if you meet her again that same day. this is a total non-issue. just the msm scrounging for stories.

19. Not true of other countries. I do not believe that Bush was the
only one there who had met everyone before. And it wasn't just that people didn't shake hands with him, it was that many of them went out of their way to look beyond him to the next person in line and that he sort of slunk down the line.

Edited on Fri Nov-21-08 05:35 PM by doc03
everyone's hands earlier in the day and none of the others had met before. I believe if I was in that line I would have offered to shake hands with the other leaders. Was it beneath him or too much work for the Destroyer in Chief to shake hands twice in one day?

23. Oh good save!
Now they just have to hope the other leaders don't send out press releases stating that the reason is because they really don't like him. That would be spiking the ball in his face.

29. This makes absolutely no sense.
When you're going on a stage you're putting on a performance.... everyone in that procession is acting in a performance-like manner for the cameras. This was a coordinated snub by the foreign leaders for the benefit of the world audience.
