Gore can barely contain excitement about Obama

By David Edwards

CNNs Fareed Zakaria talked to Al Gore who expressed a strong approval of president-elect Obama. I can barely contain my excitement about his election, he said.

Gore notes that even Republicans were proud of the election results. This was a watershed election that really gave every American great pride in our nations ability to transcend our past and redeem the revolutionary promise of our Declaration of Independence that every human being is created equal. Its electrifying to redeem that Declaration.

CNN released a video clip of Gores interview. The full interview will air Sunday on CNNs Fareed Zakaria GPS.

This video is from CNN.com, broadcast Nov. 20, 2008.

to see much more of President Gore over the next 8 years? If WE have been frustrated over the past 8 years, imagine how he must feel.:patriot:

Thank you for posting this! SO MANY people in the U.S. have NO CLUE how much better things would be right now if the Supreme Court did not steal the presidency for bushitler.

9. I think of that alot and I'm just so glad for the change, but we
have to really pressure this administration to repeal the harmful policies of 8 Republican years.

10. I have to stop myself whenever I start to think about what might have been.
I get so sad and frustrated that it starts to get physically painful. Not just this country, but the entire world, and the planet itself, would have been so much better off..

16. I agree, it was a cosmic error
and a sin by the Supreme Court. We have been fortunate and wise enough (just barely, though) to redeem ourselves. I just hope it's not too late.

11. Al Gore is the premiere statesman in the world right now
He's proven himself a great man over and over and over, and that juxtaposed to Bush is a damning shame on our electorate. Barack Obama's election helped us take a big step towards making up for the shame of the 2000 election. It's a pity that it took our country going through so much pain for us to finally see the light.

13. Al Gore has to have a special "feeling" about this win - it is redemption for him in personal ways
that we cannot touch. It must have been a mind blowing occurrence to have Obama come out the undeniable winner. Blessings to Al for all he does for the world.

14. I love Gore.
You know, that's one thing that I felt, when Obama was elected: pride in my country. Not just the left wing, but of all of us, that we could "transcend" our past, as Gore puts it, and be the people who we have always said that we are.

I still wake up some mornings and exclaim, "Oh my God! We have a black president!" It's wonderful to know that we've finally matured that much, as a nation.

23. I was so impressed with him when he was literally "in the trenches"
during Katrina. Compare that to junior riding around in Air Force One, looking down at the chaos. Unbelievable juxtaposition.

25. Obama exacted the revenge we needed for Al Gore.
Of course, he did far more than just that, and yes, he did it on his own.

The only imperfection is that we're not coming out of two Gore terms into two Obama terms.
