1. If this guy is right about Obama-

...and I think he is, it would be the neocons worst nightmare to see it all play out. Imagine- al-Quaida starves to death because the Muslim world stops hating us. How tough a pill would that be for the right wing to swallow?

2. Remember, as a child Obama lived in Indonesia

the largest Muslim country on earth. He may not be a Muslim, but he has had broader contacts and depth of understanding of how Muslims think than any other President. The most recent Smithsonian magazine has an interesting article about the Sufis, and how their world view (tolerance and a stress on secular government) could be used to counter the Wahhabists. I'm hoping that many of the Muslims with whom Obama has had contact were and are Sufis; helping the various Orders can only help promote world peace and understanding.
