October 2, 2008, U.S. House of Representatives. Congressman Brad Sherman asks:

"But why are we bailing out the Bank of China? Why are we bailing out the Saudi royal family?...

The only way they can pass this bill is by creating and by sustaining a panic atmosphere...

A few Members were even told that there would be martial law in America if we voted ``no.''

3. No not martial law. martial law in the senate which means something completely different.

It was discussed extensively here at DU at the time.
It has nothing to do with martial law as we know it. It is a term which means something else entirely.
(I forget exactly what, but it has nothing to do with a police state, it has to do with senate votes.)
