NBC News: Why Spy? (with Falcon & Snowman's Chris Boyce) (1985; with stupid Ted Stevens quote too) |
|
Just after the Walker Spy ring was broken ... this clip contains an interview with the real-life Falcon & The Snowman Christopher Boyce (Tim Hutton character in the film) and Ted Stevens "brilliant" idea on executions should be on TV.

1. Daulton Lee, Boyce's partner in crime, was in my |

high school graduating class (along with disgraced former Sen. George "Macaca" Allen). Boyce was a year younger. Daulton was a drug dealer. It didn't surprise me at all that he got involved in espionage. He did it for the money.
Boyce was personable and a good student. His involvement was much more surprising.
Both are now out of prison. When Daulton was released he went to work for Sean Penn, who had portrayed him in the film. After serving more time for escaping and spending a year or so on the lam robbing banks, Boyce was released several years ago. He married. Both have, to my knowledge, kept a very low profile since.
Stevens, of course, was and is an ass. Perhaps those who commit seven felonies ought to be severely punished, on tv. I'm sure the old Ted would heartily agree.

3. great post, I wasn't aware both are out .... |
|
I thought they were still there ... there's actually a couple of other TV clips on them on them on youtube.
When I saw the film on them the first time, I thought Penn was the acting star, but after seeing it multiple time I realized that its Hutton as Boyce who played the truely complex character.
