In an attempt to stop the public from using a public median to exercise, rich Santa Monica homeowners have exercised their strong-armed government clout and enlisted law enforcement to intimidate and ticket those who would legitimately use public land owned by taxpayers, for anything OTHER than walking or jogging/

Elitist rich controlling the public right-of-way? You decide. Giving Los Angeles and Santa Monica a bad name for sure.

I like one of the quotes regarding those millionaire homeowners who were complaining.... basically that if attractive people were doing the exercises, people wouldn't mind it.

“If I lived here and there were all really good-looking people working out, I probably wouldn’t mind,” said Mr. Parcells, 45. “So I guess it depends on who parks in front of your house.”

"SANTA MONICA, Calif. — From his squad car on a sun-drenched corner, Lemont Davis, a Santa Monica park ranger, spotted the perpetrator: white male, 40 to 45 years old, feet pressed against palm tree, legs fully extended in situp position.

Residents' complaints about noisy exercisers on a Santa Monica traffic median led to enforcement of a law few had heard of.

Mr. Davis strode from his vehicle, stopping just feet from the wide traffic median where Kieran Clarke was clearly breaking the law. “Sorry, sir,” he said, “I need to inform you that this area is for walking and jogging only.” Mr. Clarke, who had been working his abdominals, stood up and quietly walked away."
