Democratic majority. Least the new Prez will encourage the value of education. As Randi Rhodes said intelligence is making a comeback, just in the nick of time.

7. I missed 6. It is a good test |
|
One of those 6 misses was bogus. Some of the questions were really trivial, but 49% is really not too far off what I'd expect. Some of the questions took a lot more attention span and reasoning ability than I see out there.
About the politicians getting 44%, well, it is a long-held tradition in America. Really, when was the last time (before Obama) that America voted for a President primarily because they valued his intelligence? I really see this as a very hopeful thing.
Arguably people voted for Carter on this bases, but that was mostly a backlash against Nixon. I think you have to go back to Kennedy or maybe FDR. I'm not saying all of the Presidents were stupid. Most of them were very intelligent in their own way. But I'm just saying that we have never celebrated intelligence. This is just one of the many changes Obama is bringing on.

14. I think it also was a test of how much you remember from school. |
|
I remember details for some reason, and I was lucky enough to have a great government teacher in high school. Economics, too. I don't think everyone remembers stuff from high school like that or had teachers as amazing as mine.

17. I don't think any of the questions are unfair |
|
although one or two are more ambiguous than then need to be. I do think it is a bit heavy on minor details and could have done more to address the really important concepts.
As it stands, I'd expect anybody seeking office higher than dogcatcher to at least get 65% right. It would be interesting to know the profile of the elected officials who averaged 44%

11. 28 out of 33 = 84.85% |
|
I can live with that. To have gotten a 44% on this test many of the officials must have bombed the economics portion of the test which really scares me. I only got one wrong in that segment of questions and I generally consider economics to be one of my weaker subjects.

that is pro free market, anti income tax, pro prayer in public schools and pro teaching creationism in public schools, to name a few things.

15. It's what I was taught in school. |
|
The economics questions were straight out of my high school econ textbook, I think (sounded identical to me, anyways). As for creationism, I didn't see any of that on my test, and the prayer in public schools one was a red herring. I think they were trying to trip up the right-wingers with some of the questions and options.
