The election of Barack Obama as the first black president of the United States was seen as a huge step forward in the fight for equality.

But according to statistics gathered by civil rights groups there's been a sharp rise in race-hate crime across America. Hundreds of incidents of violence and vandalism against ethnic minorities have been reported since Election day.

now over" because Obama got elected. I thought she was kidding but she was dead serious.

4. Have you had a response from them yet?

I hope they weren't put off as soon as they saw it was Al Jazeera English and that they find themselves a good new news source. I get it on satellite and it's usually got some good interviews and short documentaries that go beyond what we're normally fed by the MSM.

3. Very intelligent conversation on a problem that is deadly ugly in this nation.

It isn't just a problem in the US. It's been a problem in nearly every society, and if we want to really lift ourselves up, we need to deal effectively with it. It goes to the media to DO THEIR JOB as well...and stop the hate stirring!
