2. I agree
It's powerful how people are still so emotional over this. I still am as well. I think another great thing is that we have a President who actually cares about the people.

3. Quit it AV. Now I'm a puddle of mush again. The emotional gentleman...
got me started again. And the cheering kids didn't help at all. They were so excited to see the President Elect & his beautiful family.

8. Yes, absolutely...it's not about one person standing in the spotlight
He's very clear in encouraging people to donate money or food or their time. He's setting an example by doing it himself. He's setting an impressive tone for his presidency, that's for sure.

12. I thought Michelle's response was fantastic.
She COULD have climbed up on the soapbox and delivered a speech, but she told thr truth in simple and honest terms. She brought her daughters to help teach them the meaning of giving and Thanksgiving, PERIOD. That's all that needed to be said, and that's all she said. Wonderful.

13. yes, her answer was wonderful....
I'm beginning to see how she is his rock...
he can sometimes go on and on and explain things in great detail...
and she just gets right to the point...short, sweet, and simple.
A great balancing act!

14. I have tears too!
These people are great role models for all of us!

I get excited to see people in office that actually display
Aristotle's three offices or proofs of truth: Ethics, Logic,
and Passion. These Offices of Truth were created to help the
public separate the authentic speaker from the fools. And it
shows up in practice.

When a public speaker, who seeks to influence society,
displays Ethics, Logic and Passion, in their public speech,
Aristotle says they can be trusted to do the people's
business.

Ethics is the first office, Logic is the second and Passion is
the third.

The Obama's are teaching their children Goodwill here.
Goodwill is the third element of Aristotle's First Office of
Truth called "Ethics". Ethics is made up of
character, intelligence and goodwill. One who stands up with a
character distinctly different from others, intelligently, and
who never ill wills against another is ethical. Without the
Goodwill component, one with character and intelligence is not
ethical, and can be dangerous for society and the public
interest.

Logic is the ability to demonstrate or refute a claim.

In today's world you can't be a misologist (hater of argument,
reason, enlightenment)to use the office of Logic. Logic
requires debate and reason and enlightenment to argue for the
public interest. Evidence of logic surfaces in the speeches of
Kucinich and the Obama folks, although for some reason the
evidence that Kucinich presents gets ignored by the Congress
and the press.

Passion is the ability to arouse or allay the emotions of an
audience, whether it is one or many. We can see that Obama has
this one down! So does Kucinich. I would like to see
Kucinich become the speaker of the house.

When a speaker has all three working for them, they are likely
to act in the public interest!

BTW, these tenets laid the foundations of the western thought
system and if we continue to disrespect them, they will become
extinct. When we respect them, we save our democracy.
Aristotle may have been an asshole in many ways, but let us
not throw the babies out with the bathwater. Some babies are
good for us.

In case we forget what Democracy means in America, we have
some Leonard Cohen to remind us.

Enjoy.

And if we want to startle those who don't care, we can send
them a reminder with Get Out!

15. So this is what a President is suppose to act like?
shocking! A president who cares about people who couldn't afford to contribute to his campaign.

My cynicism is in danger!
