4. K&R. Finally saw the video earlier today on the news. This was horrific! |
|
The word "execution" pretty much says it. WTF is wrong with these cops?! This was a murder and it was caught on tape... ;(

5. K&R I have avoided watching the tape. |

Just hearing about it was bad enough. It took way to long for them to arrest this officer.
The question now, will a jury or a judge have the balls to convict him? They better.

9. Prediction: an all-white jury declares it to be self-defense and acquits the cop |

No, I'm really not kidding.

the guy's handcuffed, on the ground, surrounded by 3 cops...and the cop shoots him??
Did the kid die because he hurt somebody's fucking feelings?
Just like any other people, there are good cops and bad cops. This one thinks he's fucking Judge Dredd or something. I wonder how long he would last in prison? This is bad.

16. How is this even possible? |
|
How can Cenk repeat over and over that the victim was handcuffed? You can clearly see his arms moving freely when they roll him over. That is Grant's right arm flopped on the ground between the legs of the officer that did not draw or fire his weapon. Unless the bullet broke the handcuffs (which I do not see the remains of the cuffs on his wrists either), the victim was NOT HANDCUFFED. Cenk's suggestions concern me, not because I think the officer did the right thing (obviously he did not), but because so long after the incident, and with this video in hand, he continues to mis-analyze the events that took place. That the victim was handcuffed, and that Cenk 'would have immediately suspended the officer', as if that might be something that didn't take place. Police Officers are automatically placed on leave after ANY shooting, pending investigation. THIS officer resigned. He was not kept on-duty, he was immediately placed on leave. Nor did the officer 'walked up and shot him in the back'. The officer was physically wrestling with Grant's right arm, possibly to inflict harm, roughing Grant up, possibly to apply handcuffs, I do not know, because the angle of this video does not reveal it. But the officer clearly did not just 'walk up and shoot him'.
How Cenk can miss these points, I have no idea. He has added literally nothing to our understanding of why Oscar Grant was shot.
