1. This is beyond bizarre

No person of color in their right mind would vote for these people. Their policies are completely hostile to the interests of every working American, and especially minorities.

Which means that hard core racists is a major constituency of the GOP -- one of the last really solid constituencies -- them and Wall Street executives. Obama has effectively splintered a good part of the religious wacko constituency.

What kind of sense does it make to but a black face on a party that, without the racists, would only have about 20% support of the public? The most they stand to gain among blacks in the next 8 years is a percent or two -- and they could lost 10-15% of their support among the racists.

But this is also the party with Sarah Palin as the presumptive front runner for 2012, so it is going to be interesting.
