1. Good points... I guess the writers for SNL are "too close"
to the task at hand... they seem to totally miss the obvious in terms of what to satirize... Maybe they need an internet "suggestion box..." ;)

2. John Kramer irritates me to no end
I agree with what he says, he's just such a smug prick.

4. Smug
Hmm. I haven't been called THAT before (and I've been called a LOT of things!) I've spent more than 25 years working in the Chicago Improv Scene so I know dozens of the current and former members of the cast and writing staff of SNL and have seen all of them do much, much better work on stage than they often turn out on SNL, which may perhaps explain why I'm so tough on them. You look at some of the work they did last Fall and just KNOW they could be doing better work today.

3. Back in the '70s when SNL did Presidents Ford and Carter with Dan Ackroyd and
Chevy Chase, they used no makeup no wigs nothing only their voices and it was fun. They also had no budget and did it pretty well.

5. Agreed
Ford is probably the best example of how dangerous a show like SNL can be to a President. Ford tripped getting off a plane, and Chevy Chase used the incident to turn him into a bumbler for the rest of his Presidency. It stuck and certainly didn't help his re-election bid. And Obama is a smart enough guy to know that SNL is waiting to spring on him at the first sign of any weakness.

6. I agree
I really hate their Fred Arnison's Obama. They set a high bar with Clinton and Bush 43 & 41, and I can't believe they could stick with Fred. He's terribly not funny.

7. I agree with him
When, and if, I watch SNL, I find myself on edge and uncomfortable because it's just not funny anymore.
