Awesome ad...but i'm partial to Dylan even when he pimps his stuff.

Yes, there's political content. :)

2. It's ironic that the media would condemn Michael Phelps when
Bob Dylan is the one that turned the Beatles on to Mary Jane and he is now a commercial icon.

4. No no no no no no, not that song, just fucking no. Why Bob why!!!
Yeah nice nostaglic imagery and all but, NO. That being said, of course Mr. Zimmerman, or probably more likely, some corporate owner of the rights to that song, can do whatever they want with their properties, but it hurts some of us fans in an intangible way.

16. Any entertainer who blatantly advertises for products is off the artistic roll call for eternity!

9. Damn straight.
Bob's been doing his own thing, thumbing his nose at his so-called friends and fans, since Ronnie Gilbert introduced him at Newport in 1964 with "And here he is ... take him, you know him, he's yours."

God bless him.

8. When we pay big bucks to wear their logos
they will stomp all over us. Insane human billboards no longer getting paid to wear logos.

But it the end, they will sell us the rope to hang them.

10. I didn't see any new footage of Dylan there. DA Pennebaker probably owns the rights
to the Don't Look Back film. Wouldn't he be the one who sold the rights to use those particular images?

Unless I missed something..

12. Newport 1965
Some of the footage looks to be be from Newport '65, much of which is courtesy of documentarian Murray Lerner. Of course Forever Young first appeared in '74 on Planet Waves.

Whatever the case, I have no doubt that Bob and/or his people signed off on the use of his image and song for Pepsi. Cool by me. Keep the man's music alive...at whatever "cost".

14. I care not....just from all the noise I heard yesterday, I thought he'd appeared
exclusively for the ad...Dylan can do whatever the hell he wants. The man's been begging to be his own person since the beginning.

13. I found this elequent post on another site, Will keep author anonomous.
i watch for dylan to have one last great spilling out of high art material... things are starting to tremble now in the usa, we may fall into an econ collapse similiar to the great depression. if so, look out below. in this type of envir., an older wiser dylan will have his heart stirred, much like cash near his end. watch for dylans consciouss to explode w/ some great work. my quess it will come back to works like these centered on issues of faith. this nation will need it.

15. Hate to be a squelch, but graffitti is not cool. Kids who write
on walls get into big trouble. It's not good to encourage them to do it -- not good for the kids or the walls. That little piece of the ad should be changed.
