I for one don't believe for a nano-second that Cheney believes what he just told us rubes to absorb. Dick is as disingenuous as they come....beyond belief.

Cheney is just WISHING for an attack. All the neocons are. They don't care one bit about protecting this country, only in seizing and holding power.
It is truly a danger to us all, considering they embedded people like this all over the government.

or you or I would have said it. Unlike the vagaries of menacing terror-men that Bush/Cheney paint, Olbermann actually did some research, cited sources and made comparisons to evil political machinations in history and film. I usually just rant all the "known knowns" about the Evil Empire of the past 8 years he did the legwork and boiled it down to its corrupt essence.
Nice job KO.

from time to time and just slam it up against the wall so the rest of the world will continue to take us seriously -- Cheney is essentially saying the same thing in more socially-acceptable fashion -- we have to hurt them before they hurt us, terra terra terra.
This rancid sack of suet can make his miserable way back to Wyoming any moment now, far as I'm concerned. It's unthinkable that he'd be anywhere near CIA headquarters.

35. Unfortunately his voice is being drowned out: |
|
By the silence of the mass media who were the lapdogs of the Bush-Cheney administration. What I have heard from the White House Press Corps is a renewed attack on Democrats from the very same people whose columns and commentary during the Bush years amounted to republication of the administration's talking points. The Republcians are masters at deception.
They have convinced the average American to believe that Unions are evil, Tariffs are bad for trade, the press is Liberal and that tax cuts for the wealthy stimulate the economy.

44. of all the arguments of the right -wingers, the one I find most .. |
|
frustrating is this "they kept us safe" crap. Do these people really think that Al Queida's only objective is to watch buildings fall? What are they, demolition buffs? The purpose of the attacks was to cause fear. That's why they call it "terrorism" The reason they want people terrified is because a scared populace will often make rash, panic-driven decisions. The objective has nothing to do with seeing how many buildings they can knock down. It's like saying "why didn't John Wilkes Booth go back the next day and shoot Lincoln again?" The reason was, he didn't have to. The awful deed was done. The same is true with 911. Bin Laden said he wanted to see us go bankrupt. Thanks to the panic-stricken bushco, we started a war that had nothing to do with 911 at huge cost. If not for those incredibly large expenditures, we wouldn't be in the mess we are in today. Our moral leadership in the world was lost as it came out that the panic-stricken draft-dodgers running the executive branch had scrapped the Constitution and started torturing people abroad and spying on people at home. Bin Laden has sat back and watched as his actions, coupled with the Bush/Cheney/ Neo-Con incompetence, has given him every thing he wanted; the downward spiral of our way of life and our standing in the world, a curtailing of our personal freedoms as our leaders manipulate us with fear. "We haven't been hit again" as if the enemy just intends to keep hitting buildings and killing us 3,000 people at a time, until we are all gone and they can take over the land. After the 911 attacks, some on the right blamed Clinton, even making a movie with that message, saying failed to take out Bin Laden when he had the chance. Of course, the pre-911 Bin Laden was a different animal then the one that Bushco gave a pass to. Before 911 Bin Laden had a bad reputation as the one likely behind the Cole bombing and other terror acts, but not the household name that he became in the wake of September 11, 2001. Cheney's words now are a preemptive strike designed to inoculate the former administration so that if there is another attack, the fact that THEY TOO failed to bring Bin Laden to justice can be countered with the argument that we should have continued their methods, the methods that are bringing us down to the level of our enemies.

55. "...Bush/Cheney/ Neo-Con incompetence..." NOT! |
|
Claiming 'incompetence' let's them off the hook. They are NOT incompetent. They ARE indifferent. As long as they get to walk away with their pockets stuffed, which is the present case, they have very adroitly, and competently, achieved their goals. They simply do not care about the devastation caused by their ambition.

So true! You have to be naive not to see that Cheney and gang were behind the terror attacks on the Twin Towers on 9-11. When he forecasts another terrorist attack on America, you can count on it -- probably a few months before the next presidential election.

Cheney, Rummy and their neocon friends talked about the need for a "Pearl Harbor" and low and behold we had one. Do you think 9-11 was a coincident? Come on. If anyone knows about future terror attacks on American soil, I'd take Cheney seriously because he's the Wizzard of Oz behind the curtain.

Olbermann rules. I've never, ever, in my long and Cronkite-admiring life, heard another newscaster do the job as well as Keith.
Can anyone else imagine (AND fantasize) about a Cronkite/Olbermann nightly news show with Sunday commentary and interviews? I would download and record so many shows that my library would expand exponentially.
AMAZING.
