1. Happy to be the first rec. |

I actually wish I hadn't seen Tony in the still frame because it would've been a better surprise, but it was still hilarious use of him.

3. I disagree with the decision of Kellog (of course) but that doesn't change the comedic value |
|
of the cartoon.
It's GREAAAAT.

still stoned, stumbling around in a haze, in an equally messed up room is damaging no matter how ignorant that Nazi philosophy about maryjane is; In the strange ignorant world of double standards we live in, it is damaging.
I know, I know, lighten up its just comedy; But sometimes comedy can do do harm. The life of a national treasure is systematically being destroyed by big tobacco, (particularly in SC run by big tobacco) and the rabid right wingers who are intent on totally destroying Phelps career. Just don't like the piling on I guess. That said, I think you are a funny and creative guy.

Rush Limbaugh the opium addict gets a 500 million dollar contract. For years he drove his cars around florida high on opium putting thousands of Americans at risk. Not one peep from his corporate sponsors. Let Kellogg know you will not buy their product. http://www2.kelloggs.com/ContactUs.aspxemailus@kelloggs.com

Phelps was free to make a choice that had consequences. Kelloggs was also free to make a choice and they did. It's highly likely that Phelps' consequences will impact him more than the consequences of the choice Kelloggs made. Fair? No. Whoever said that life was fair? There are choices/consequences.

19. I disagree. This was no crime against others, |
|
nor was it the taking substances to enhance his swimming ability, or like that. This was a 23 yr old in a social situation, having fun. He's no god to be expected to live a perfect life.
I'm sure he'll be more careful in future, but lordy, I don't expect anyone in his situation to stay 100% "pure" and free from a potential paparazzi gotcha (and $$gotpictcha$$) situation. My sympathies are entirely with Phelps - he won medals and was rightfully the pride of the US - but like everyone else he deserves the freedom of having some kind of private life.

20. I said nothing about a crime. Choices/Consequences. He is old enough to know better. |
|
When he took money for endorsements he promoted himself as an even more public figure and willingly sacrificed most of his private life. Companies who gave him this money have expectations regarding his behavior. He is free to do whatever he likes, but he should also be old enough and intelligent enough to understand that choices have consequences, both good and bad. I am sure he is sorry though--that he got caught.

What's he really going to say? He's going to say that 12 yr olds who try (what photographic evidence shows that he did) this have to have the same kind of determination that he also did, to win the medals that he did.
Doesn't that trump all?
I mean, aren't we multifaceted beings?
As if we should sign on to living in Disney's world when we endorse Disney products. That's totally out to lunch, it's asking too much. Phelps doesn't need Disney. He's a phenomenon himself.

to lessen the influence of drugs or any form of recreational drugs. That being said. Kellog's and let's say it's Frosted Flakes' main industry is to kids. He's supposed or takes on the role of being a role model for children and this was blasted all over the news and everywhere. Kids who have aspired to be him will now have that stripped from them if their parents are on top of that.
I have no sympathy for him because even though is his business and we can say he was just a 23 year old having "fun" <----ie which is another problem I'm having because now recreational drugs are classed in the "fun" category. That's whatever...but he took upon that responsibility and he has to bear the burden. I like the poster you responded too, have no sympathy for this since it's out of unacceptable in the role he's been pushed into.
I'm an adult who is not in the spotlight and I don't find recreational drugs "fun" since I know people who have been mortally vicitimized by it, and that includes pot. I wouldn't want someone who is essentially promoting that---> promoting a "healthy" lifestyle for my children. It's basically "gotcha" my ass. He wasn't too private if someone got a hold of it.
He has many endorsers keeping him, like Speedos. But Speedos doesn't advertise to children. That's like the Miley Cyrus caught with a picture of her drinking a Corona and a cigarette even if she was 18. Disney would go ballistic because children are seeing this and she's basically advertising it. If he endorsed Disney they would have done the same as Kellogs because they advertise to kids and it's not like the parents can hide the fact that a role model hasn't done something. Vanessa Hudgens is lucky she came out with only stars and her name is blocked in those Mommy-protectors thing.

I don't like bluenoses sniffing around my business, notebooks and cameras in hand, deciding what is and isn't allowable "fun" or simple enjoyment.

12. Sugar Frosted Corn Flakes |
|
Have probably done more harm to Amerika's youth (diabetes, obesity, acne, and rotten teeth) than weed (except for those stupidly incarcerated by Amerika's fascist drug laws). The hypocrisy of having an Olympic athlete, who probably avoids this crap like the plague in his training diet (OK, maybe he munches on it when he's baked) hawk it to Amerika's kiddies is way worse than his bong hit. And the Big Ag Corn lobby, of which Kellogg's is a big part, gets @ $50B of taxpayer money each year to overproduce cheap corn, millions of tons of which, along with it's by products, cheap meat and cheap cheese, gets dumped into the big garbage disposal known as the Children's School Lunch Program. Choke on it, Mike!

|
In 2012, when Phelps wins another 6 golds to put him at a nice, even 20, and all of these sponsers who are dumping him now come back on their hands and knees begging him to resign with them?
Don't worry about Phelps. He is going to come back with a vengance.

to be a regular human being!! Kelloggs schmellogs. You'd think Phelps was running crack from South America, instead of being - in addition to an amazing athlete - a regular American wishing to enjoy his life as he pleases. His only mistake was forgetting he is in the public eye.
