1. Cognitive Dissonance: Freedom vs. Puritanism

I agree with Maher. Cannabis is probably the least harmful chemical substance used for recreation. Who cares if Phelps smokes pot? Americans are, in my opinion, still entirely too concerned with minding other people's business. Personal behavior between and among adults is way too regulated in the United States. Europe is much more tolerant, and personal behavior there is private, not public. Get the police out of the living rooms and bedrooms of America. Freedom is not just a word. :rant:

Freedom from and freedom to. I want to be free from cameras in my toilet and wire taps on my phone and free to do whatever I damn well please as long as what I'm doing doesn't harm or interfere with others.
Republican jingoism and false patriotism has interfered into the lives of the majority for far too long The fact that we've grown up enough to elect a president based on ability rather than skin color indicates that we have moved to the next phase. We're tired of their feigned moral outrage and indignation.
Morals can not be legislated.
