2. It's not necessarily Obama alone when I agree with rope-a-dope.

It's Obama along with his two extra brains and a few ladies of malicious intent. You've got Axelrod and Plouth alongside Obama...they're all playing chess with the Repubs and winning. More and more they look like fools.

I mentioned this a week or more ago. I feel he is doing the ol' Rope-A-Dope, and he allows the Republicans to get him on the ropes so he can bounce back with a killer punch. I think it's playing into his hands because I know at least ONE person who voted for McCain here in Kansas that LOVES Obama. While the President will not win over radical right wingers, he will win over moderate righties and he's doing a damn fine job of it in my opinion so far.

6. Yeah, I have to agree

Last week, when them msm was all over Obama, I was getting upset by the bs and then a moderate friend of mine called me FUMING about how the Republicans were acting. He had been undecided until election day, and really admired McCain until Palin, and yet last week he called McCain a miserable, sore loser who didn't care about the country and didn't know anything about economics:-)

I have suspected this for a long time because that's exactly what it looks like.

7. This is a NO-LOSE strategy!

Trying to be post partisan is what the country wants!
If the Republicans don't play they are seen as spoiled children.
If they do play they admit their ideology is wrong.
The cat is out of the bag, They are praying for failure.
We can not over emphasize this.
Their only hope is sour grapes.
Our next target is the conservative media, Why do they keep giving dis-proven theories credibility?
We need to get on this NOW and stay on it constantly.
Every time Republics try to take credit for stimulus they voted AGAINST we need to assault them.

8. No so fast. We lost A LOT on this last stimulus bill.

The consensus is that it was too small, had too many tax cuts and not enough for things like infrastructure. I also share that opinion (along with Cenk, Rachel Maddow, Thom Hartmann and others who I respect).

Being bipartisan doesn't mean 50/50, it means you consider other ideas and you incorporate them IF they make sense and improve the country. The problem is when you adopt bad ideas just for the sake and appearance of bipartisanship.

This stimulus bill was/is SO incredibly important. And Thom Hartmann (and Cenk for that matter) is correct when they say the Republican plan was to water down the bill with as much non-stimulative junk as possible, in order to delay recovery and help their chances for 2010 (at which point they can say "see, the economy still sucks, we TOLD YOU the bill needed more tax cuts, and that's why we all voted NO").

Even by taking the bipartisan concept too far this first go-around.

PS---I'm willing to be hopeful that this was a lesson learned situation, but I'm not willing to pretend that the lesson didn't come at a (high) price.
