He CO-SPONSORED it, saying

"Serving on the intelligence committee and seeing day after day, week after week, briefings on Saddam's weapons of mass destruction and his plans on using those weapons, he cannot be allowed to have nuclear weapons. It's just that simple. The whole world changes if Saddam ever has nuclear weapons."

Of course, the folks on the Intelligence Commitee actually knew that the WMD stuff was bogus. To quote another member of the Commitee, Richard Durgin:

“I was a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee and I would read the headlines in the paper in the morning and I’d watch the television newscast and I’d shake my head. …he information we had in the Intelligence Committee was not the same information being given to the American people. I couldn’t believe it...

You see, in the Intelligence Committee, we’re sworn to secrecy. We can’t walk outside the door and say, ‘The statement made yesterday by the White House is in direct contradiction to classified information that’s being given to this Congress.'...

And so in my frustration, I sat here on the floor of the Senate and listened to this heated debate about invading Iraq thinking the American people are being misled. They are not being told the truth.”

5. i think it is the case that all had virtually no idea what it meant to place such...

profound responsibilities into the hands of the likes of g.w. bush none-what-so-ever; i saw it, you may have seen it as well; but there was/is a presumption over & over again, however failed & misplaced repeatedly (more so failed, more so misplaced in the hands of cheney, g.w. bush, rove, matalin, perle, kristol, wolfowitz, et al), that the american president will always 'do the right thing' and that is the cycle that must be broken imo...as for china...

they are on the horizon of being made to account for their various trade oddities and they are legion, but make little mistake; they are here to stay as well, and deals will need to be cut anew

Edwards said two years ago his vote was wrong.

NOW, he is the strongest anti war candidate and the only candidate with a plan for Universal Health Care, and Energy plan to end global warming and a plan to end poverty in 30 years, among many other solid proposals that will benefit all Americans, not just a privileged few.
