3. He was pretty interesting on the OVERTIME show, that comes on after REAL TIME ends

(It's an internet feed). He basically said Obama is the MAN...

I don't especially care for Luntz, overall, but he had some nice things to say about the Senator.

4. sure, it is within his ability to say nice things on a host of issues across the board...

but he makes his mortgage on understanding, and he understands very well; the tag lines & squishing motives that permeate people's minds...he's the guy that suggested republicans refer to the democratic party as the demoCRAT party...seems simply enough, but that has been one of the most demeaning slights, however simple, since they started the practice

5. Oh, I realize he's an asshole. They talked about his coining of DEATH TAX on the show.

That said, I think the GOP--or maybe the Rove crowd--kinda tossed him over the side. He wrote that jazzy playbook for them (see here http://www.politicalstrategy.org/archives/001185.php#1185 ) and then it seemed as though they had some sort of falling out. He got fat, grew a beard, wrote a book, now he's shaved the beard and is slightly less fat.

Frontline notes that the memo is still being used by ExxonMobil as a way to build Republican congressional opposition to measures that would curtail global warming.

So what does Luntz have to say for himself? Well, he both admits his memo advocates distorting scientific data, and then he goes on to effusively brag about his talent for coming up with language that makes brazen lies seem mildly truthful (I would call him an expert in "truthiness" but "truthiness" implies that what is being said has a grain of actual truth - Luntz takes total lies and only makes them seem like they vaguely relate to the truth).

6. yep, that's the guy, his response to Maher's list of lousy republicans i.e...

"Then why can't democrats beat these so-called lousy republicans!?!?!" is not well made, when i fact he knows damn-full-well that he has been part & parcel to republicans treating their own kind, along with everyone else, like low IQ bugs, insects & Jerry Springer/Springer-Cam 'just folks' Smack-Down Targets...but hey, whatever works & the checks keep flowing in...

maybe he is cool to have a beer with :shrug: but i don't care, i've done sample/focus work, and that shit gets waaaayy snarky imo x(

Or those two words--SUPREME COURT. After all, we DID beat the lousy Republicans, they just didn't give Gore his due.

I don't think he's a very nice person, myself. That's why I found his remarks, which were gracious, about Obama, almost..well, jarring. It was like watching Hitler coo over a kitten!
