1. More proof that Rove is NO genius!
I can't think of a more politically STUPID move than to send the Chimperor out to announce he's sticking with Cheney & Rummy thru the end of his term. Before that announcement, I was half-expecting that Rummy would resign on Monday - THAT would've been a politically brilliant move on their part (not enough to change the outcome of the race, mind you, but it would've sucked all the air out of the room the day before the election). Instead, they set themselves up for this VERY damaging editorial from THE leading military newspapers.

Amazing stuff, isn't it?:wow:

3. Are all military (and families) votes done by absentee?

5. Many do, but at least when I was in, I'd register and vote locally
in the presidentials. As far as I know there's no reason service personnel still can't do this.

4. Many have, but these editorials are the career force types speaking
They tell the military Times how they feel and what they're thinking, not the other way round. This is just making it 'official' that they're fed up.

File: Joan Baez Blowin' In The Wind..MSWMM
Broadcast: Public Video | Status: Failed (invalid file format)"

It's as tight and slick as ANYTHING, I ever produced in media, even back when I worked professionally but back then there were no "file formats."

WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?

7. Try changing the filename to:
"joan_baez_blowin_in_the_wind.wmv"

Use underscores between each word, drop the apostrophe and change the file format to "wmv."

Let me know if that works.:hi:

10. it's them... i followed your instructions to the letter...
"WMM" probably stands for Weapons of Mass Media and Fatherland Insecurity is adding it, with my damn luck.

12. I also found this at YOUTUBE...
PUT THIS ON YOUR WEBSITE but I don't have a web-site.

<object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/2j5FrhxIcm8"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/2j5FrhxIcm8" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="600" height="350"></embed></object>

I changed it to open with my browser, just now, instead of opening with Windows Movie Maker, maybe that was the problem. I hope YOUTUBE likes Fire Fox

14. while I KNOW that the music is fine with copy-rights, imagery may be an issue...
Edited on Sat Nov-04-06 02:04 PM by Jeffersons Ghost
The music is over 20 years old, which places it into public domain, except in certain rare circumstances. I go to all kinds of web-sites to find pictures, however, using Google images and rarely even see the sites at all. Perhaps I've incorporated a graphic that YOUTUBE has banned, due to complaints by an owner, before I became a member: It would sure be nice of them to let me know, IF that is the problem.

<on edit> oh yeah, thanks for letting me borrow your OP, Skinner, I HOPE our dialog will help other members at DU avoid making mistakes that will prevent others from seeing their hard work. Thanks also for this wonderful forum and other recent improvements to the site. You are truly a modern patriot.

That said, with all that B.S. sunshine I just blew your way, someone probably needs to kick your but (oooops, typo) but I'll be the one to...
:kick: I meant! oh yeah, here's a VOTE to go with it!

Don't you folks just hate suck-ups in the work place! I know that I do! LOL
