4. Every word out of Hannity's mouth was an ad hominem attack
Edited on Thu May-17-07 02:37 PM by Az
It was utter smear from top to bottom. I am not a fan of Hitchens but he nailed them to their own cross on this one. They invited him on the show knowing what he would say and then they attempt to play the moral superior card by castigating him for saying it. At no time did they refute anything he had to say and only had invective and insult to counter it with.

Yes his words are strong and may hurt people. But he is merely telling the truth about what his opinion is. And he backs it up.

9. But THAT's what he does and that's WHAT they do...
ATTACK and MOTIVATE PEOPLE BASED ON FEAR

you are stupid.
gay marriage will bring an end to the world.
saddam hussein wants to kill your children.

It's all bullshit, but the way they think and unfortunately the way countless others think who are more motivated by who got ripped off on Dancing With The Stars instead of the shamming of our troops by whatshisface in the WH.

14. Hitch is on an absolute roll these days.
Buy and read his new book.

BTW - I disagree with Hitch on Iraq, but that is about it. On every other matter he is still a firm leftist. He bashes the bush administration regularly.
He is a learned historian and a champion of our country and its Constitution.

Those of you who avoid Hitch because of the Iraq War are being myopic.

15. And I loved the way he made Hannity stutter when he made
that remark about Hannity's intellect. It was simply great. I knew he would nail Reed, because Reed just has to do the faux pious speech. If I recall correctly , Reed was the one who dreamed up the title "Moral Majority". He helped Robertson and Foulwell all the way.For lots of bucks, of course.

16. I LOVE IT!!! I WANT MORE!!!!
Hitch does not give a FUCK at all..I think Hitch was alot more then Hannity bargined for because Hitch would not let them wangle him.

Hannity, what a pathetic uneducated clown, that old "Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot" rhetoric is bullshit. Those states established by those dictators were of religion, state worship is RELIGION not Atheism, the dictator was the God..Hitler was very superstitious raised in Catholicism and Stalin was, prior to ruling, attending seminary school. Stalin did not want to worhip a God he wanted to be a worshiped God.

Hitch is exactly what we need, the "Take not shit Atheist" in the media showing no remorse to snake-oil salesmen. Reed didn't even have the nerve to tangle with Hitch either, Reed seemed extremely intimidated by him, this shit gets better everyday!! Hitch going around kickin'em in the nuts!!

19. How can this man still support the war?
I have heard him speak out against Bush, but I am confused about his war stance.

Nevertheless, I may have to buy his book. He has a pretty quick wit.

21. Hitchens may be the ONLY person on Earth to be able to go on FAUX
News and come out ahead.

The hacks at Faux feast on kindness and humility and word mincing in the name of political correctness like sharks feast on blood in the water. That is why every decent, good person who goes on Faux gets shredded. I've seen it over and over.

But Hitchens...is different - he utterly lacks the political correctness, humility, or the spirit of conciliation that Faux hosts typically use to attack their guests. Hitchens gives them no quarter and nothing to work with. They don't know what to do, and if they get off track, he just out-shouts them back on topic.

He always cracks me up. His book, "god is Not Great" is a hoot!

22. Hitchens was superb. I am enjoying his Falwell eulogies so much it is hard not to listen to them
over and over... and I am NOT a fan of Hitchens in general.

He is yelling out loud "THE EMPEROR IS NAKED!!!!!!"
I must admire that.

25. Ugh. Hitchens comes off as a complete ass. He interrupts but it petulent when interrupted.
He objects when Hannity switches to personal attacks on him, as he should, but when Reed speaks Hitchens interrupts and starts chanting "Tell it to Jack Abramoff" over and over. He comes off as a crude, word-slurring intoxicated, vicious buffoon who's too full of his own opinions and contemptuous of everybody else's--more or less exactly what he says Falwell was.

A pox on the houses of both those useless warmonkeys, Hannity and Hitch. Those intolerant genocidal jackasses deserve each other. Hitch is no better than Fox. Hell, Hitch is Fox stripped of its piety and hypocricy--self indulgent, crude, destructive, self-loathing, conceited, and thoroughly undemocratic.

27. On Fox, that works
The only way to play the game on Fox is to be "a crude, word-slurring intoxicated, vicious buffoon who's too full of his own opinions and contemptuous of everybody else's." Or at least to act more like one.

Liberal guests who try to be cordial and "civil," that supposedly oh-so-important attribute that all liberals are constantly admonished to cultivate, are interrupted, chewed up, spit out, and then mocked for their weakness. Civility does NOT work when you're arguing in a stacked debate. I wish more intelligent, well-spoken, and less pompous liberals would at least study this and pick up a few pointeres. I'm not at all a fan of Hitchens, but he recognizes that making nicey-nicey with bullies like Hannity gets you clobbered.
