Did the US military use chemical weapons in Iraq?
An Italian state-run TV documentary says yes, a charge the US calls 'disinformation.'

RAI, the all news state-run satellite channel in Italy, aired a documentary Tuesday that accused the United States of using chemical weapons against the civilian population during a November 2004 bombardment of Fallujah. AKI, the Italian news agency, reports that the documentary, entitled "Fallujah: The Hidden Massacre" and aired on the first aniversary of the assault on insurgents in Fallujah, includes interviews with former US soldiers and with residents of Fallujah who say that during the assault on the city the US military used the chemical white phosphorus.

US used white phosphorus in Iraq

US troops used white phosphorus as a weapon in last year's offensive in the Iraqi city of Falluja, the US has said.

"It was used as an incendiary weapon against enemy combatants," spokesman Lt Col Barry Venable told the BBC - though not against civilians, he said.

The US had earlier said the substance - which can cause burning of the flesh - had been used only for illumination.

The death of the ABC camera crew this morning had me thinking about the journalists that have died there. It makes me wonder what this crew was working on.

Fallujah but claim that it's use was in accordance with the Geneva Conventions and that it was not used in civilian areas... though we of course know that the Geneva Conventions do not apply to terrorists and technically speaking, Fallujah is sort of a "civilian area"...

I understand Alberto Gonzales believes we were completely legal in using Whiskey Pappa rounds and besides, you can bet there's not one single politician who will give a flying shit about us using chemical weapons anyway...

When I'm trying to obfuscate an argument, I like to throw in a few facts once in a while... So it would be convenient if there were thousands of soldiers denying it's use... do you have a link or do you have access to these soldiers you're referring to? If you don't... that's okay... I'll just use your quote as a reference and say... "Some say, thousands blah blah blah" You get the idea...
