2. Thanks.. Missed it this morning
Everyone asks me which Democrat I'm supporting. I say that I'm not making any choice among the candidates because the best man for the job hasn't decided to run yet. I understand that Hillary and Barack and John and others are capable, but after years of mediocrity (yes, I'm being very generous) in the office, we need excellence. When he realizes how much we need him, I hope he'll do the right thing. I hope he'll keep teaching us until America is on the right track again. Thanks, Al!

3. thank you!
I was going nuts this morning when I knew it was on but had to be in the car.

Everything people on this board said this morning is true. He absolutely OWNED her. If, by any chance, he does decide to go for it, we will be in for a treat. He'll force actual reasoned discussion. Even if he decides not to jump in, I hope he mixes it up in the fray.

Imagine him with a TV show just discussing the issues! A real "no spin zone"

If not on cable TV, maybe a regularly-published webcast like this u-tube clip. He could become the pied piper!

5. Diane Sawyer just underscored the point Al Gore was making about the media:
They don't focus on the issues that matter. She kept diverting the conversation away from the problems that the world and America are facing.

We all want to know if Gore is running (of course he will), but he isn't going to tell you Diane!

6. If he does run......
He'll announce it to someone who will consider it a separate
issue from his membership in a weight-watchers' program.

7. She is so irritating!
How many times does he have to make the point, clearly and effectively? (he's a great speaker)

and she still doesn't get it!!!

I want to strangle her :banghead: Are you listening????

10. You've hit the nail on the head...
Diane Sawyer, along with the rest of the MSM are slackers. Time to bring back the FYI team. Murphy, Jim, Frank, Corky, and Miles would be the ideal journalists to cover President Gore.

28. On King today, he sai d a flat "no" about Secretary of State ...
If he wasn't running, why wouldn't he just rule it out here and now.

I think the Halloween/Christmas reference was a gentle hint that it wasn't time yet.

11. We don't deserve him
I love Gore, but he is too damn intelligent for the average american. I swear every night he must open a box of twinkies and just bang his head against the wall

Love the clip where he is sighing throughout the debate with Bush...you know his thought bubble was "Idiot"

while watching the Kerry/Bush 'debate!' (I 'lost' to that idiot?)

I echo the commenter who says "We don't deserve him." we should be fighting for him. He absolutely has his finger on the pulse of what has gone wrong here.

but had to stay on production script. It's an institutional problem for the entire medium that stupify's the electorate.

If only someone would write a book :)

14. GORE: (approving) Oh, great.
http://thinkprogress.org/2007/05/21/gore-sawyer-interview/

SAWYER: We are going dig deeper — in fact, we’re going to come back with another piece, because I really want to talk more about this thesis.
GORE: Oh, great.
SAWYER: But to dig not very deep, once again, at my peril here…I just want to say, Donna Brazile, your former campaign manager, has said, If he drops 25 to 30 pounds he’s running. Lost any weight?

I'll be looking for that piece Ms. SAWYER.

In the meantime, while Amazon's free shipping has obvious benefits /ticktock ...

"Listen to your questions..." And she just does not get it...

Diane Sawyer - dumb f'ing media whore.

Al Gore has more class in his little finger than the entire MSM whores put together...oh wait, the have no class so it is not even a contest.

23. That was so unbelievably disgusting! Of all of the pertinent
good ideas and potential quotes made by Gore and barely reported in the media, she picks one concerning his weight? Is weight why Donna Brazile doesn't run herself? How utterly laughable. Ms. Sawyer is as revolting as Katie Coric I guess. I never have watched either one. Now I remember why. Might as well just turn on FOX, which I also never do.

:wtf:

25. What Killed Me About the Weight Question
was that it came right on the heels of her skepticism over Gore's claim that the media was addicted to celebrity and hype. That was rich!

27. Oh, yes. I saw Gore on Larry King Dead tonight and he did
a wonderful job. I so hope he runs. We the people voted for him once, and those who didn't have surely seen their awful mistake (maybe even the sullied SCOTUS who selected B* to office in the first place?)

15. I love the work he's doing
I wasn't on board with him in 2000, because he is a corporate bigwig the same as any other big-name politician. But the more I hear from him the easier it is to forget that. Of all the corporate bigwigs, he's doing more to change the system from the inside than anyone else I can think of.

17. Every time I hear him speak I respect him even more.
Despite Sawyer's thinly veiled attempts to steer the interview away from reason (how much weight have you lost???), Mr. Gore takes control and focuses on his message. He is now more of a tactician who seems to have learned a great deal about dealing with the media since 2000. I want to believe he's practicing for the media assault on him that will surely occur should he announce his candidacy. Maybe he's feeling them out - doing a little recon work learning the media landscape learning where his greatest enemies in the media will be - carefully calculating and planning his moves out ahead of time.

Damn I really hope so.

24. Thank you so much for posting this. Had missed it and read
DU posts on the interview... I too LOVE Al Gore, and Sawyer can go buzz saw herself. What a pathetic media whore. She exhibited characteristics of the problems of the 'cracks in the foundation of Democracy' that Gore was attempting to address, and she didn't seem to realize how much it applied to herself.

KNR!

29. He will run
Everything he said tonight on Larry King sounded like a very shrewd poker player in the game of his life.
If he wasn't running, he could have simply and effectively said "no", just as he did to the question about
Secretary of State.
