It's only $10 and packs quite a punch and the comic book format makes it much more reader friendly for lots of people. http://www.addictedtowar.com/:hi:

because our country's prime manufacturing goods are the tools of war (the military industrial complex Eisenhower warned us about) and the need for our government to ALWAYS have an enemy, someone we can show to the American people to justify our ridiculous defense budget and keep them in a constant state of fear.
Somehow the U.S. has delegated itself as the world's policemen. We want everyone to be just like us (a sobering thought), we want everyone to supply us with the resources we need to continue "the American way of life" and countries not willing to acquiesce are considered "enemies" that must be reined in. We disrupt other countries' governments, meddle in their affairs, install petty thugs as leaders who'll do our bidding and, when they start getting ideas of their own, will remove them with military force. All to protect our "way of life".
We're selfish, egotistic bullies who can't seem to allow other countries the luxury of making their own mistakes while evolving into cooperative, productive nations just like the United States has been doing for the past 200 years. We have to force our will on all others. The result of that hubris is what we are seeing today: world-wide distrust and anger at our Imperial policies.
And THAT'S why we need such a large and all consuming military. Because we've bullied and threatened so many nations into doing our bidding. We're the neighborhood bully: stealing the other kids' lunch money, beating them up to make them look weak and at the same time supposedly making ourselves appear tough. We're a country of crooks and thugs, yet most seem proud of it. The good old U. S. of A., the red, white and blue, America love it or leave it, these colors don't run etc. etc. etc. I give this country 50 years or less until it collapses under it's own weight, until a group of nations band together to end America's rein of terror.
Nowhere is it written that the United States will forever endure. On the contrary, history tells us that this nation WILL NOT endure: that it will, because of it's hubris and total emphasis on military might, crumble as every other empire of it's ilk in history has done.
